I'm like super insecure right now because he's so angry and i told him i didnt know what to do anymore because im scared of loading anything and he just said i should buy my own internet connection
or tell him when im doing something so he can prepare and not attack anyone

and like i dont want to tell him every time i upload something
a) hes gonna say no anyway
b) i dont want to talk to him anymore in general since hes so angry so im just scared....

honestly if the connection can handle him gaming, mind you that if he gaming on a computer there are far more things going on the background while he plays, and most services are designed to handle multiple systems, I have my laptop and PS4 on the same connection.

sadly we can't limit the upload speed of a computer so whenever i upload things it goes full on.

but i dont even want to delete my submissions due to the danger of causing my dad lag and him getting angry

no uploading a 3500x2500pixels file to drive takes all of the internet and does cause major lag, but i never think that me doing something takes his internet away
also as said it was only like 10 seconds

I’m lucky to have 1mbps download you can deal with lag and if he’s not in an esports or tournimate he can get over it

I know what lag is, its knowing you killed a fucker then find you was killed cause you rubber banded back 40 feet into one of his team mates

Sounds like the best short term solution is to adjust your schedule so it doesn't overlap his. Back when I lived with my parents and had to live on a 3 Mbps connection, I just started shifting my schedule to where I was going to bed immediately after dinner (And earlier after I finished high school and started working and could afford a meal or two on my own) and waking up long before the family.

As for streaming, you can control the bitrate of a stream and only offer a lower definition video quality. Once he has cooled down thoroughly, you could try asking him if he could test for you.. Like tell him you are going to stream and ask him to play a game to see if it has an impact.. Again, after he has cooled down. Depending on how upset he was, perhaps quite a while after he has thoroughly cooled down.

You could also try using Dropbox instead of Google Drive. Dropbox syncs in the background and you can manually throttle it.

my stream is usually fine. i set it to 450kb but it streams at 600, and that doesnt affect him
still im just paranoid now

also i dont like dropbox at all. i used it but i find google drive to be more convenient
however i found a program that blocks chrome from uploading at a too high rate so I'm good now.

Some games seem to be ridiculously sensitive to internet speed.
