"Make 3 positive comments and 3 harsh criticisms about your art."
Positive
1. Bright, eye-popping colors. A lot of people think the coloring is better than the lineart, and I'm inclined to agree.
2. Crisp, strong lines -- most of this is from working in digital, but it works
3. Constant Evolution - The artwork is highly experimental, and I'm not afraid to tweak even "beloved" characters in the name of better artwork. Look at how much Jigsaw's changed - The ears rounded out and shrunk a bit, her eye stripes became bigger and longer, her colors have shifted "slightly"... not to mention that in the earliest pieces of her, she didn't even have a different color for her belly like she does now.
Criticism
1. ... because of that same evolution, the longer I go without drawing a character, the more drastically different they appear when they DO return (The Vaeo family seems to suffer from this especially). Jigsaw may change just as much in 70 pages as they do, but she's drawn so often that it's a much more gradual adjustment. (another character with major in-between adjustments? Addy. Her face has morphed over time to become more "lionlike" since folks complained she looked like a freakin' bear.)
2. I'm really insecure about how I do stuff sometimes. Okay, more a complaint about myself than about my art, but still, I let other people's opinions shape my art a lot more often than I want to admit, and that's a bad thing. I mean, I do art because I WANT to do it, ideally, so why do I keep letting other folks tell me what I should and shouldn't be doing?
3. I DRAW TOO FRICKIN' SLOW. Sure, the art looks great, but it takes a while to make it. Not that it doesn't look beautiful, but because I don't draw as much random stuff (fanart, pinups, etc.) I think it's one of the major things holding me back, and I'm not sure what to do about it besides plow through it anyway. I think part of it is just drawing for the comic is slow (badges usually go pretty quick), But the problem still stands.
Your turn!
You don't have to do the meme yourself... all you have to do is fill out the same meme, still talking about my stuff. 'cause it's always easier to criticize everyone else's work, right?

A major complaint I used to get about the comic was that folks didn't seem to know what was going on. I think the main issue there is that the story is so spread-out at this point that stuff people saw, oh, ten or twenty pages ago as actually been told to them two or more months ago, so it takes a little time to remember everything that's been done so far. I need to go back and finish the tagging I was doing on earlier posts so that hopefully it'll help folks help themselves on the site and encourage further participation as well as better comprehension, but that's a small feature that I'm unsure would be enough to make things easier. Then again, it's free to try out, so...
