It's been over a year since my ex moved out and I'm looking at all of the crap in the house that I need to sift through and reorganize. I called him up to see if there was anything else he wanted. Otherwise, I'm hoping to get at least a bag full of stuff out of the house per week that I don't need or want and either take it to the dump or an appropriate charity/recycling. 5 bags done so far. It has been stressful but also therapeutic in a way.

The goal is to reorganize my spare bedroom, set up a dedicated studio/work area for Fred and I and get as much space free as possible in the basement for filming/doing puppet stuff. I want to make this house as much his as it is mine although I know that is a tall order -- it's hard to move into a space that belongs to someone else. Still need to pick up a desk and some tools and a few little things to ensure we have everything we need.

Still working through the paperwork for divorce and hopefully I get the mortgage moved over tomorrow. The house is now officially mine and I've transferred what funds I owed to my ex so that's all taken care of. He's doing well which is good. We're separated but still on good terms. I hope it stays that way. I hope to get my divorce finalized soon. It amazes me how easy it is to get married but how hard it is to get a divorce even if you are both on good terms. It's not even that it's hard -- there are just a number of lengthy steps involved. It's not quick.

It's been a long and expensive process and I know there are more expenses to look forward to. It is worth it.
