I can't be sure, but probably by hand. The Renaissance Festivals have a lot of old-school hand crafters running the shops.

The price tag was certainly more in line with something one-of-a-kind rather than something that could be produced in number by a printer.

just sharing what is coming up in one of my favorite dragons-as-main-characters series. Buggyness varies.
(the first two series of wings of fire do not have buggy dragons, it is just the new continent being shown does.)

Since this is the first book introducing dracobugs, the sequels must gradually increase their bugginess until they're 90% buggy and 10% dragon. It's inevitable.

I was just sharing as wings of fire is one of the few series where there aren't any human main characters, and is interesting as it shows a world where humans did lose the war for dominance for once, and you only really see them as a background thing here and there.
