I saw that, yes, was going to comment on it, but didn't after seeing multiple others comment on it. I did this journal mainly because I haven't seen as many addressing Anderson

The famous people are dropping like flies! And they're all vastly different ages too!

Saw that at work before leaving. At least with her we knew it was coming. She was reported to be in failing health and she was 92 after all. That's a pretty darn good life if you ask me. Ermey surprised me, he appeared physically fit and full of life and he was in the marines after all. 74 Feels young for him to go. My dad also served in Vietnam and is 84 and going pretty strong, so I'm probably comparing it to that too. Hearing Anderson pass away at 65 felt way too young for someone with his enthusiasm to entertain. My understanding is he still performed magic tricks and shows for people and absolutely loved doing it. I can't help but wonder if he had an ailment or something.

I know this may sound selfish, but I hope he (and Don Rickles for that matter) recorded their dialog for both Kingdom Hearts III and Toy Story IV.

I was a little surprised that Full Metal Jacket and/or Mail Call weren't airing on TV the other day (though maybe they were, I wasn't exactly looking terribly hard...)

Still think it's pretty crazy that Kubrick let him ad lib in FMJ...

As for Mister Anderson, sounds like the police won't say how or why he died yet.

There's a hollywood legend that Ermey put together a 30 minute tape of nothing but him swearing at and insulting the camera using all his experience from the marines either to convince them to give him the part or what to have the person they were casting for the part do. Those who have apparently seen it are reported to have called it the funniest thing they've ever seen, but dared not to release it because of the content. Apparently everything he says in the movie is actually quite toned down from what he said in the tape. One can only imagine what that must mean, lol. Interestingly enough, every story I've heard from people who met say he would immediately greet them kinda like his introduction in FMJ (though waaaaaay toned down), and once the ice was broken he was one of the kindest, most sincere men they had ever met.

Hard to say. Like I said its more of a hollywood legend, and if the tape existed, who's to say it hasn't been destroyed or lost.

I knew he had been in/voiced a lot of things, but that's still pretty impressive. I remember him in the video game Fallout: Tactics, knew immediately who that voice belonged to. Also, funny to think he was Dr. House's father in the House series. Feel appropriate, lol

Hmm... well, with any luck he either owned the copy or remade one for himself and now someone has inherited it and will want to share it with the world! ^_^

Hmm... makes me wish I'd played the Fall-Out games now...

And YEAH! that was precisely one of those ones where I was shocked that I'd forgotten all about that but then thought about how perfect that casting was. heh. ^_^

He doesn't voice the character in the intro cutscene, but I would swear he had hand in crafting the dialogue he spouts out. The first you hear him is around 11:24. He fits perfectly with the Brotherhood of Steel.
