Put great value on the friendships you have.
Treat your friends as equals, as another person of equal intelligence, as a person deserving of your respect and trust.
Agree to disagree, because that's what decent humans do and should be a given between friends.
Don't treat your friends as nothing more than an emotional punching bag, as a shoulder to cry on, and nothing else. Don't treat your friends with hostility over disagreements.
Why? Because then you're not a friend to that person. You're just using them for selfish reasons, and that's unfair on the other party. Especially when they are trying to be a good friend themselves.
I suppose what I'm trying to say is, don't be a selfish asshole to your so called friends. Yes I understand that there's playful ribbing, and banter and what not. But that's not what I'm referring to, playful banter is just fine.
But don't be a real dick.
I went a bit candid at the end, but it gets to the point if nothing else.
