Can people stop being offended on another's behalf?

This is the journal header. Nothing to see here, get to reading the actual journal yah goof!
Completely unrelated note: Can people stop being offended on another's behalf?
You can't read minds, and you don't know how they'd react. So please, stop fucking doing it. Let them be offended themselves, and be offended by shit that offends you! Not what may or may not offend someone else!
Also stop immediately assuming the most offensive thing possible when something is said or implied.
For goodness sake, has the benefit of the doubt died out or something? Or do knee jerks now dictate everything?

Yeah it's pretty silly xP
"Please don't call this character X, it's offensive" when the character didn't belong to the person who commented, thus they were being offended for the character's owner over what someone called the character.
The specifics aren't hugely important here, just as long as you get what I mean.
But yes you've got the idea :3
Wrong.
Sometime later, I get a note from her sister saying that she yelled at her and all this crap about how she should get rid of her profile.
Then they start arguing through Journals!
Needless to say, I was furious.
I am 24. I may be Autistic, but I sure as Hell can speak for myself.
That's another thing in a similar vein, people being offended for someone else when both parties have settled the matter, moved on, or actually it wasn't such a big deal in the first place.
Again it sounds like you have first hand experience there xP
*GASP* "You they said a mean thing to you!"
"Um, actually I don't mind what they said. We made up. It's not a big deal"
"Ah, hold it right there! They must be brought to justice over this horrendous act! You will see retribution"
"No really it's okay, they said sorry and I don't care anymore"
"THEY WILL BE BROUGHT TO THEIR KNEES FOR WHAT THEY SAID TO YOU!"
I absolutelx HATE when people think or speak for me! I was thisclose to saying "Get your parents on the computor, I want to speak to them!" in the end, it worked out.
