I've been contemplating a change for a long time now.
Wanting to represent myself more in my own 'sona'. Something to turn my focus more towards the future, and step away from the past.

If you're going to change your FA name, be sure to post several notifications spaced out about a week between, just so enough people see it and know where to find you. I recently cleaned up my watch list, deleting everyone who's inactive, disabled, or moved and didn't realize it.

My FA will be kept the same aside from an account name change. You can do that on here as far as I'm aware.

Ah well. I'll give plenty of warning.

I would appreciate a Visual Submission Notification of the Account move when this occurs. Journals are easy for me to miss since I watch so many people. It's lazy day for me, so I actually sat down to read all my journals by chance to see this.

And post a handful of reminders over an extendedly long period of time so that people late to the party don't miss out on the move either. I've had a few artists I like Close Their account soon after they moved, and I had no way of knowing where they went. (Would actually recommend not closing your account at all, and just Shoving your old art into scraps (or delete if you are reuploading all of it) while your profile be covered in links to your new account.

Account will not move. I'll still be right here, but I'm going to be changing the account name, which as far as I'm aware, you can do on here now.

That hasn't been mentioned in any recent updates, and even still has been a huge requested feature through Forums even weeks ago.
I also don't currently see this feature through my own account settings. (Beta or Classic Layout)

The closest thing that I know of is the feature "Display Name" in account settings as it has been there all this time I've been on FA.
This doesn't change your username, but toggles a secondary name on your profile to be displayed.

Hmmm.. Darn. I thought that would have been the thing that did it.
Well.. I'll certainly let people know multiple ways when I switch over.

I understand your reasons, but keep in mind that you will lose watchers along the way from people who miss the change for whatever reason. I've been mostly away from FA for a couple of years because of life events and I've no doubt lost track of people who've moved in the meantime. This can add up! You have about 15,000 watchers and that's no small number to pull along with you.

If you do wish to go through with it, the advice above is good; post many reminders over an extended period of time (perhaps bi-weekly at first, then monthly or semi-monthly for six months to a year), both by journal and eye-catching submission. I hope you arrive at the result you're looking for.

I'd probably come back every week at first, then string it out to every month or so after, so that stragglers could find me again. Just making notifications along the way so that nobody gets left behind.
