Hey everyone, Spent the last bit of money I had (until Friday) on seeing Rampage, which was fantastic! Might be the best movie based directly on a single video game.
Funny thing happened when I went to see it tho...
Got to the theater a little late, was told the movie was in theater 1, hurried inside, the trailers were already playing... the trailers end and the movie begins...aaaand for some reason it's Truth or Dare.
The whole opening scene plays out and a little of the next before the movie cuts out and the proper movie is loaded in. a staff member came in and apologized and that was it. So weird!
Not sure what else to put here, except to say you can ask me anything. I'll do my best to answer them.
Was like, how does this scene in Mexico about a creepy woman trying to buy cigarettes at a gas station/convenience store have to do with Rampage... then the Truth Or Dare title card popped up.
What do you mean?
And Dory and Party came out a couple/few years ago...
I haven't seen it either, but it's rather raunchy and there's apparently a lot of sexial and racial humor.
I didn't see it yet, but I'd heard that a theater accidentally started playing the adult movie for an audience of parents and their small kids looking to see Finding Dory.
Seems like a good movie to bring a date to. ^_^
I have heard of that happening where the wrong movie is played. Hasn't ever happened to me though, only 'wrong' thing that's happened when I went to a movie was when I saw the movie 'Volcano' with Tommy Lee Jones in theaters with friends. Movie was ten minutes late starting and when the theater realized it, they started without showing the previews. Which actually left us in the audience mad. And to be honest, I can't imagine they would get away without showing the previews nowadays. With the money each studio pays to show them I think it would cause a lot more problems for the theater than simply trying not to be late.
I remember hearing of a theater accidentally showing one of the Hannibal Lector movies when they were suppose to be showing some kids movie. Something like 5-10 minutes played before they stopped it, but that was enough to expose the kids to... a lot of bad gory things apparently. This was many years ago, so I can't remember all the details, but I do recall it happened somewhere in Europe.
Actually, Brad Jones on his Midnight Screenings has run into a few problem, especially recently. There was one film that broke down in the middle of the movie, but instead of finishing it (which would have required sitting through the first half again) they left and reviewed the parts they saw because it was so bad. I think that may have been Just Getting Started, but I'm not sure. There was another one where they had to move to another theater in the building to finish watching a movie because that one broke as well. Another where they actually had to travel to ANOTHER theater to fully watch a movie when their screening got cancelled. And one (I think it may have actually been the most recent Transformers movie) where the sound cut out completely (or something to that affect) and the theater rolled the movie back a full half hour to make up for it. Much to their chagrin, the sound was only out for maybe 3-5minutes and they didn't want to have to sit through ANY of the movie more than they had to.
By the way, did you see the new Venom trailer released today?
And thanks for reminding me, I've got to go read Your journal on the subject!
Wait, the way you worded that was a little confusing, are you saying Jolie's Tomb Raider is something you'd watch infinitely over Vickander's Tomb Raider? If I understood that correctly, what would be the reason for that?
Or did you mean Mario Bros.?
Yeah, well, we didn't get Rampage's trailers... dunno if I missed anything new.
I wanna say that something like that has happened to me before, but I've forgotten what movie(s) it was...
Think anyone might get fired for that one? (luckily there were only 3 people in the theatre, two of which were me and my mother. I was the only one to stay seated the whole time.
Huh, I wonder which Lecter movie it was (not to mention what movie were they supposed to be seeing that they didn't realize it was the wrong film...)
BTW, now that I think about it, Truth or Dare had an opening title card while Rampage did not... what if ToD didn't?
Had I not been savvy about the movies, I may have just thought Rampage had a verry odd start...
Can't say I can recall what Just Getting Started was about... will have to look that one up.
Did you see Transformers The Last Knight? Or how about my review of it? (I think that was actually the last movie I completed my YT video of, now that I think of it)
Guess that was a trailer I missed thanks to Truth or Dare, because I did not. I'll be seeing it regardless tho, will attend in my Venom symbol shirt.
BTW thanks for giving me something big to reply to. I missed getting to talk with you. ^_^
Huh, interesting. Was the movie late to start? Don't think they'd fire anyone over it, as long as it doesn't happen often.
Rampage didn't have a title card? Huh, I thought I remembered it having one, soon after the escape capsule breaks up entering the atmosphere.
I think the kids movie they got the Lecter movie mixed up with was an animated film, so people knew right away what was wrong in the audience, just took several minutes for the theater to handle it.
I think so. Think you did a good job on the editing of it.
Well, like I said, we arrived late, the trailers were already running when we got into our seats.
Saw a trailer for Hereditary, which was most definitely meant for T or D's audience.
And when they fixed the movie, it started with "And Now Your Feature Presentation". and nothing else.
If it did, I forgot. You might be right, it feels like the place it might be.
I could have been distracted...
The last few movies I've seen in theaters haven't had their titles show up at the start, just at the ending.
Yeah, figures... go to see a cartoon, get an R-rated live action movie... yeah, clearly something's wrong there.
Thanks, I sure put a lot of effort into it. was the first and only time I did a video like it too.
Had wished I had been able to get it posted with some better speed tho...
been falling behind on posting my LP videos as well, I have a few that I've edited already and need to post and I've got a handful of God of War episodes that I need to edit and upload after...
So, you said Brad disliked The Last Knight, from My video you must have put together that I enjoyed it, but do you remember what You thought of it?
Gonna see Bumblebee in December? (or whenever they actually release it, since movie relewse dates keep changing lately...)
I didn't see the Last Knight. Haven't seen any of them really. Tried to watch the first one a couple times, once with the Rifftrax commentary, but I just couldn't do it. shia le douche annoys me to no end. And had no real want to see any of the others after that
Currently not sure if I'll see it now. Seems a bit too disturbing.
"Le douche" is only in the first three. Walburg is the protagonist in the latest two.
But that's fine. Assuming you weren't a fan of the toy or cartoon franchise...
So, you liked my review even though you'd never watched the movies in the series?
I wish I could have the patience to do more videos in a similar way... IDK how some other YTers are able to do it.
Honestly there's a lot of review I like on movies I've never seen
Awww, I'd wanted to see that, he thought it was That bad, huh?
Also, here's my movie review I was referring to:

Okay, gonna go read you journal, see if there's anything to reply to there as well. ^_^
