zzzzzzz... ... ...
i know... as i type this furs are still dancing, drinking, smoking weed and fucking eachother's brains out, but i went home at the proper time instead of staying late, so i have nothing better to do than to reflect on an event that's still going on. (as usual, the meanings that make me look like a loser are in brackets).
confuzzled 2018 was the best con i've ever been to. i've been saying all day that i'll let it sink in for a while before i say that, but the more i look back on things that happened even just hours ago, the wilder the positive emotions about it become. but that's boring to read about, let alone write about, so i'll just summarise in short sentences (trying to be funny) .
however, the thing that i cannot keep my mind away from is none of these. it's another fursuiter. instead of me describing them, they have posted this very enlightening journal entry about them, so i'll make you read that instead;

i was in suit on _insert correct evening here_ and stumbled upon shade, who was ambling down the corridor at a snail's pace, head hung low, shoulders hunched. they inspired such an incredible amount of melancholy in me that I couldn't take my eyes off of them. i de-suited about an hour later to go up to my room to take a few inches out of my bottle of brandy, but couldn't stop thinking about shade, and my mind stared racing with an idea for a piece of music. i quickly wrote it down, harmonised it and there it's done (half-arsed). this seems to be the only way i can write a piece of music i'm happy with. wait until something interesting happens to me, and then be lucky enough for my brain to want to work (brandy helps).
i decided a while ago that i was going to record another trio album this summer, as it's been too long and i have a few pieces scattered around that i've (half) written.
in somewhat relevant news, along with confuzzled the charity compilation cd tsunami was released, featuring my contribution entitled yawn which you can find at http://www.furaffinity.net/view/27498630/. i gave it another listen when i got back today and am rather happy with the idea, it being a new electronic sound for my saxophone based output. i think i may spend a little time and make some "electronic backing tracks" of all of these new pieces i've been writing, perhaps along with older pieces. one so that i can practice them and enjoy it, and two so that the trio, when i assemble them, will have some kind of reference point to work from when we rehearse.
i'm bored of typing now. i've made my statement so bye!
