#DeleteArticle13 The EU is trying to destroy the internet!

This is the journal header. Nothing to see here, get to reading the actual journal yah goof!
Yep, you heard me right. Another threat to the internet is upon us. The EU Parliament in all their unelected wisdom is trying to totally fuck over everyone in the name of copyright, and silencing dissent.
This is like the US fight for Net Neutrality, only way WAY worse. If you want the long, far more detailed insight into what's happening then I implore you to check out this link and to:
https://juliareda.eu/eu-copyright-reform/
The short version however is this: The EU wants to enact a new copyright directive that will cause enormous, wide reaching, catastrophic changes to the internet.
It will impose widespread censorship by way of upload filters which determine what can or cannot be uploaded, as well as destroy Fair Use since algorithms cannot determine the difference between genuine copyright infringement and legal, transformative work.
There are many many other enormously damaging consequences if this passes. I beg of everyone to read into this, what is being implemented and the damage it will cause. Once you've read up, TAKE ACTION!
https://saveyourinternet.eu/
Please please please take action! Even if you're outside of the EU, spread the word! Spread it as far and wide as you can! The same with Net Neutrality in the US, this could set a dangerous and worrying precedent!
We cannot allow freedom of expression, fair use and the free and open internet to be put at risk yet again!
It doesn't matter what the EU Parliament's true intent is, this cannot be allowed to pass!
(Some videos on it, if you need a little more)

How do you get the videos linked in? Unless it's just put in the link

At least that's what I'm getting
Either way, this flat out sucks! D:
Mind if I copy your journal with a link to this?
After I said, I started telling my friends and their families and I got caught up looking into it, I didn't make the journal
honestly it's becoming more and more obvious how out of touch most of these kinds of hacks are, given how easily they seem to get manipulated into believing these kinds of internet laws are a good thing.
The EU saw the result of an informed public, Brexit. Now with stirrings of other countries considering leaving the union they want to desperately control information and stop people from sharing thoughts and opinions and discussions. Something similar to these Articles was tested in Spain in 2014 (I think) and it utterly failed because it's completely untenable.
I voted to remain at the time....but now I wish I'd been a part of the leave vote. Because I can see now that the EU is bloody awful, and a few good laws don't make up enough goodwill for me to think otherwise anymore.
Just scroll all the way down to Liat-anis's post and continue.

If you think it's fake then you must have just looked at Liat-Anis's response on Tumblr and been convinced it was fake. (Also Tumblr, great source of reliable information).
