The best answer I can give right now is a big fat "maybe". I've got a fancy new desktop I can record stuff on, but I still need a better cable to hook up my keyboard (with any luck I'll get one pretty soon). I've got a few loose ideas rattling around that I could record. Likely wouldn't be as active as before, but still something. Finally, I'd be more likely to upload to my bandcamp (gathamarblack.bandcamp.com) and make a journal here.

OK. The latter would be equally good. Although I read journals much less frequently than looking through submissions. Much much.

With cable you mean an audio jack or MIDI?

Audio jack. I previously used an old amp cable my brother gave me. It's a bit too short for my current setup so I'm looking into new ones. As for journals vs. submissions, I'm sure you've seen how fast new stuff gets bumped off the frontpage. Even if it would last a while, it's amateur music, not paid art commissions. I feel better putting it on my bandcamp itself and, for those here who actively seek my work (who I can count on zero hands), I throw bandcamp links in journals. I know it's a bit backwards, but that's just me.

I've made the expereince recently, that music often stays on the front page for even half a day - also depending on how much you zoom out.

Just threw up an "AMA" post of a quick sign made in paint. Not even ten minutes later it's off the page. If I get any hits on it now I'll buy a very nice hat and eat it.

Yea, people are flailing art around like dots of spray paint. ... well, I said that a bit too negative. Have lots of artists around is a good thing IMO. It's just not working out so well and easily for everyone - the browse-function helps though- when categories are chosen wisely - and people are widely using it - which I doubt to a degree.

Ok, my personal question of the day: What does it take to forgive?
Which inner/intrinsic qualities of a (human) being are necessary to forgive?

Wow...that is...a question.

I surprise myself in realizing how often I ask myself this question. I could ramble on any number of things that could serve as answers, such as an open mind or patience. The biggest thing that comes to mind is love. (Is there cheese coming out of my ears?) If you want to forgive someone for anything, you need to look within yourself and find just how much they mean in your life. Let's say your best friend promises you they'll hang out on your birthday but cancels. You later find out they're hanging out with other friends instead. You're pissed, but you weigh your temporary anger against how much your best friend means to you. You forgive them. If you don't, and you place more weight on your anger, you allow a rift to form between your best friend and yourself, and in a way you become part of that rift. Inside, you've decided that your hatred outweighs the value of your friendship. You've let yourself become a bit darker, a bit emptier on the inside.

Like I said, I could ramble about my personal philosophy on the subject. (Fondue, anyone?)

What if someone who you do not or hardly know hurts someone else who you don't or hardly know.
Like you are maybe just a bystander or a witness, but it really fucks with your beliefs and conviction.

Also an excellent question with a similar answer. At that point you may need to forgive yourself. If your beliefs and convictions are called into question by something like what you've described, you may need to forgive yourself for either witnessing whatever it was, or alternatively, having the morals you do. Maybe it would prompt you to open your mind to certain things? Likewise, it could go the opposite direction with that second idea and be something terrible that goes against your humanity (or faith in such), but I'd argue that would fall back into the first instance where your morals are fine, but it's your feelings about them and the event you need to forgive.


I feel like I've tripped over my own words on this one and gotten lost somewhere in translating my thoughts. Happens a lot, I words are good no do.
