Pokemon Let's Go Pikachu/Eevee Hopes and Fears
7 years ago
So that game was announced and people are livid. :0 As someone who tries every Pokemon game that comes out these days. I usually get excited over every prospect. The more that I look at these games, the more I get excited.
But I HOPE some things get added.
1. Post Game.
Pokemon Gen 1's Post Game is a absolute Failure. Sorry but it's true. You might as well delete your save and start again when you beat the champion after trading some of your Pokemon to Gen 7. Here is the list of things you can do when you beat Red/Blue/Yellow:
Catch Mewtwo
Complete Pokedex (You don't get a reward for it)
... Go against the Elite Four again... Uh...
...
Yeah. To be honest. Not a big fan of it. Fire Red and Leaf Green's after story content is pretty alright though. I just HOPE they aren't planning on being as true to the source material as possible (By making the game completely shallow).
2. Game Corner.
Listen. Don't blame Europe for taking away the Game Corner. Blame Game Freak for not thinking of a fun way to make use out of it without gambling... Okay you can blame us just a little. Basically I think they should find a way to make the Game Corner gamble free so they can actually do something with it this time around instead of just closing it down and removing it all together in the newer games.
Or you know. Just give us gambling. Sorry Game Freak but the Game Corner is part of Gen 1, you can't just outright remove it this time. You wanna please the genwunners... Don't you? :3c
3. Pikachu and Eevee Surfing mini game
Make it happen. Please.
If you didn't know. In Pokemon Yellow there is a surfing mini game that you needed to have a surfing Pikachu to do. You got this from doing a ridiculously hard challenge on Pokemon Stadium. In the 3DS Yellow though, you can do the minigame with just a normal Pikachu. Yay! :3 I would love to see this cute minigame back but in HD. If you wanna know where the Minigame is, it's south of Fuchsia City, on the beach.
4. Moar bawls.
I kinda hate that Pokemon GO had only the 3 standard balls. Give us more balls to use like... THE MASTER BA- Heal Ball c:
5. SPOOKY GHOSTS!
No Silph Scope ghosts please! They were super cool!
I do have other hopes but they are kinda small. I do have some fears though which are:
1. The game being short as hell.
You can literally skip Wild Pokemon all together. That could make the game extremely short (Especially with no post game)
2. No ORAS bullshit.
YES YES I KNOW I KEEP BRINGING THESE ABOMINATIONS UP BUT Don't make me have to beat Brawley to get to Slateport. Don't make me beat Winona to be able to go to Lillycove. Don't restrict the game which the originals didn't. If you restrict Gen 1 like that. Like you HAVE to beat Misty to leave Cerulean. Or you HAVE to do all this in a certain order. It ruins what Gen 1 is. An Adventure, not a straight line. It suffers more than Gen 3 if you do it.
3. Too easy.
To be honest... I think these games are going to be super easy and... It doesn't bother me that much with these kind of games but... Hopefully it will be a little hard sometimes? But if it's easy. Whatever.
These are all I can think of right now. What do you think of the games? You happy or ornery? Tell me your thoughts on the games or my thoughts. I am a little excited for these ones.
But I HOPE some things get added.

FA+

At any rate, that's going to be hard to do since they've been trying to re-ignite the older fans passion for the series without realizing how to do it by releasing the same stuff and pandering to them by saying "Hey look, we're giving your old favorite gen 1 Pokemon a new coat of paint" or something. Sadly, I fear this is not going to do what you say or what the devs want. Especially because the one thing that did re-ignite those old fans and new fans love for the series was Pokemon GO, a complete re-interpretation of the series into a mobile phone game which I doubt Game Freak at this time has even the foggiest idea that they could re-interpret or re-imagine the game in a way that would appeal to the older fans, which concerns me if they want to do that given the success of Pokemon GO before it became... a series of promises without any delivery on those promises, from what I heard in terms of player vs. player content and trading of Pokemon.
I'm sorry for this long paragraph, I'm not upset. I'm just stating how I feel in terms of the series based off of your comment.
A game that follows the main series in gameplay but isn't a spin off.
1. Post game in Jhoto. Come on, this is the third or fourth time we've seen Kanto's games get released. Can we just get Jhoto in there too for once? You know, so we aren't seeing Kanto for the sixth time (If you count Yellow as a re-release).
2. updated Pokemon cries. THIS IS THE SWITCH, CAN WE STOP USING THE GAMEBOY SOUND EFFECTS FOR THESE.
3. No memes. I hate that they seem obligated to put these in games now when they make scripts for them. I swear to god Super Mystery Dungeon, X&Y, and Sun & Moon had intentional meme references and it made me feel awful when I saw how forced they were.
My fears:
1. They'll make it Gen 1, nothing interesting. Honestly, Gen 1 was always a little boring to me. It wasn't until Gen 2 that I really dove into Pokemon. And this is coming from a kid who played both endlessly.
2. They'll promote more fan favorite Pokemon like MewTwo and hype him up or Charizard will have that, or maybe they'll have some Pokemon event type thing which brings Mew into it and if you aren't playing at said time you can't get it making legendaries feel less exciting to catch and more like just special event things. Which much of the games past and including Den 4 have done which has bothered me.
3. It will be style over substance like I feel Gen 6, the Gen 3 remakes, and Gen 7 were. That being said, I still think Gen 7 was fun. I'm probably not going back to it anytime soon though.
Nah, I get it as a financial profit. Bringing pokemon go players into this game
and making it a even more bigger fanbase for the next Generation in November of 2019.
Pokemon is Pokemon and I'm sure it will be fun for all players. There haven't been a pokemon game where i said
"Wow, This game sucked all the way though..." It's GameFreak, They always know what they are doing.
Most of the time... XD
