From now on I'm only doing art trades with people I know well.
I've had too many cases where I've told people I was too busy to do a trade and they just did it anyways and got upset when I wasn't drawing their art. It's not happening anymore.

I don't get that. If you are told no, why continue it? Probably to guilt you?
i think people take my "i can't i'm too busy to" to mean "yes, i won't be busy in a couple days and i will do it then" so now i'll just say no instead of explaining why

Perfectly understandable, When peeps are busy, They shouldn't be pushed to do art, It's just giving them more stress to deal with.
