74 years ago today, WWII officially started for the US. US,Canadian,UK and other allied forces such a Mexico allied together to invade Nazi occupied Normandy. Both my Grandfathers were in the Military during WWII, I believe only one actually saw combat though, the other got ammonia or some other sickness and was discharged before sent overseas. He never saw combat. The other was in the Military Police.
My grandfathers brother saw some tour of duty in the Pacific but I'm not sure if his tour was before, during or after WW2
