E3 2018
About time I made a new journal. Hmm.......uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh......
Oh yeah, E3 2018's coming up.
======
Sony...
Death Stranding...morely just to see what Metal Gear's creator's neweest creation is like. I mean the whole break off way back and the canceling of the next Silent Hill will make even the stingest person grab this game just to shove it in Konami's face.
The Last of Us Part 2. I've seen playthroughs of this, have the game but haven't been able to play yet, but the Last of Us was a fantastic game with a great story. The sequel looks to add in darker tones (in already dark world), and we take control of Ellie...and she's not the child she was in the original game, and we're going to be seeing a lot of hate in this one. Ooooh ho ho, gonna be good.
Microsoft...
Kind of "eh" for me. Fable was a decent series...maybe it'll come out of the dust.
Nintendo....
I'm not really that interested in the Switch. I'm happy with my Sony than you. But I am intrigued by the new Smash Bros...especially they're new contenders (especially that rumor that Spyro and Crash may attend).
The next core Pokemon coming to a CONSOLE is also intriguing...but remains to be seen if Nintendo can pull it off with a franchise that has made it's name in portable circles.
EA,,,,,
Uhhh....I'm gonna pass.
Ubisoft....
I've dabbled in Assassin's Creed and all, but the big thing here for me is Beyond Good & Evil 2. The original was such a great game. It wasn't perfect, but it did a LOT of things decently enough (from combat, story telling, characters, side-missions, world building, emotion) that it deserves respect. The sequel (or prequel rather), seems to turn things back a lot...with uhh...abundance in speech...and a sort of pirate-like theme, with subtle overtones to plot and characters from the first installment. Right now, I'm unsure what to make of it. The starting trailer they gave was amazing (though the language put me off a bit, they didn't need it in the first one to be great, but whatever), and the thought of running your own crew of misfits is intriguing. Still, how it all flows together and connects to the first installmenti s yet to be seen...so hopefully get some more info.
Bethesda....
Rage 2 was a surprised. I actually did play the first one way back and thought it to be a decent enough game. At first, it was a little difficult to scrouge around for things, but that made the initial moments tense and strategic. Once you get a rythem down (not to mention those bots you could craft), you could go endless rounds in tournament to fill your wallet up for whatever your needs are. The ending to Rage, however, fell really flat, with just a defense at the end and no real big boss or anything, which was disappointing. The game felt...unfinished, incomplete. Unfortunately it looks like 2 may be having a new protagonist and a different story, which kind of leads the first one to a "why did we do this again?". Oh well, at least it's got a sequel.
Fallout 76....while I'm not an online player, I'm glad that Fallout is getting some multiplayer love. Hopefully the single player experience won't be forgotten in later additions, however.
From Square...
We got the Final Fantasy 7 Remake...well...it's first epsidoe anyway. I've kind of avoided this one for the most part, as the remake (not to metion seperation) of a PS classic as big as it is would literally take longer than we all think to come out. I mean really, it's split into episodes. If you want to take Final Fantasy 7 Remake's COMPLETION, we'd have to wait till ALL of them are done. To be honest, some games suffer from this (.hack for instance), when they're separated. So...i preferred to simply wait until this one shows up.
Kingdom Hearts on the other hand...is a multitude of franchises coming together. And with 3 including the first Pixar worlds and stepping up the antee in many ways, I tried to keep my eyees peeled for new stuff. It was amazing that leaked footage from MI turned out to be true and that additions like parties up to five members open up new options for this entry
It kind of boggles the mind that KH3 is ONLY the end of the XEHANORT saga...and that there may very well be more KH after this.
Oh yeah, E3 2018's coming up.
