Ko-Fi started out as like, a tip jar thing? you could pay artists one off payments of a set amount of a few dollars and 'buy them a coffee' via it as a tip and they'd get the money. Not they have Ko-Fi gold which allows you to change the price increment, allows monthly payments like patreon, and payments for specific content, ect. https://ko-fi.com/gold

Personally I'm tempted to use it, as it seems suitable to those one time supporters, who don't want monthlies, but wanna throw something one's way on occasion.

I think that's a fine perk, but I've also yet to see anyone using it or even promoting that they're using Ko-Fi Gold.

i have regular ko-fi for one off payments which is free anyway so that's fine. was thinking about it as an alternative to monthly patreon payments but looking at pricing, patreon takes 5%, ko-fi gold costs $6 a month, so you'd need to be earning $400 a month on patreon for it to be taking the same amount of paying Ko-Fi $6.
doesn't look worth it now from that perspective.

I've seen a few people using it as like 'one off payments for a specific piece of art' but yeah.
