Spot in my eye that won't go away after seeing bright light.

So one week ago today I accidentally looked at the light of a bright LED flashlight. Well you know how when you look at a light and blink you see that redish blotch, well I have that but it hasn't gone away.
It's a circle that is just above the center of my left eye's vision, my vision in that circle is darkened, blurred and slightly distorted.
I tried looking this up on Google, but not being sure what exactly to search so I can't find good info. So basically why I am posting this journal is to ask, does anyone know what this is? And do you know if this can be cured?
Now it's not THAT bad, but it's just the fact that it's there it's causing me some minor stress and frustration. Also, *ahem* I have also been playing Hollow Knight in tabletop mode on my Switch a lot, so if I need to rest my left eye, like maybe getting an eyepatch I could do that.
Lastly I'd rather not have to go to a doctor, since this isn't something VERY bad and I would rather go to the doctor as a last resort. Since I don't have insurance I have to pay fully out of pocket, and if the doctor just says "just wear an eyepatch" then that is a waste of money...
So yeah, if anyone has any ideas I would appreciate it.

It sounds as though by exposure to the bright light, your eye needs to regenerate some of the light sensitive tissue damaged by the photons.

Chris - So, you have lost the photo pigment in that particular area temporarily because it's been broken down by the photons of light hitting it, and when it regenerates, it comes back then you see normal again, but while it's regenerating up the pigment because of the overexposure, you see a less intense spot, so you therefore see a dark spot. It's worth noting actually that the retina is less active when light shines on it than in the dark. It's in fact deactivated by light rather than activated by light. It's rather paradoxical, isn't it?
If it's taking that long for the dark spot to go away it might be a sign of permanent damage, all you can do is monitor it and ask a specialist.
Bear in mind I am not a doctor, and make no promises to the effectiveness of this advice.
