I know that as K-O the Kangaroo, I've learned how to wag the tail while in costume. I have to be careful where I do it though, otherwise that could mean more tail-pullers!
Looks like the Nick's butt is a mass attached to the performer's legs just above the knees. I'd guess that just normal walking would pivot that thing like crazy.
