trust me, special edition isn't worth it.

Currently, regular Skyrim is also $20. The SE version includes all the dlc addons while the regular one doesn't, which is making me lean more towards getting the special edition due to cost.

The time I did played Skyrim was on a CD that is no longer in my possession, so I have to start from scratch.

I apologize for the multiple comment replies. I thought that if I buy the regular Skyrim, I have to buy all the dlcs on Steam. But I could just buy the Skyrim: Legendary Edition on Amazon for the same price (with shipping included) and then just get the mods I want easily (since not every mod is supported for special edition).

I'm not sure if that's the "better"/pdated version of the game, but if it is bought it for less a few years back. (around black friday)

The choice is yours. I know I had over 50 hours on it on my laptop. (RIP)

Yeah, given that I no longer have the original Skyrim CD, I have to start anew, as well as getting dlcs for the game. >.<

I bought it back then because it was very cheap, like under 20$ I think? But also because a friend told I would not regret it and honestly, he was right. I never played a game like it before. It's very old, but an interesting game for someone who likes to explore everything and be rewarded for it.

Special Edition, if I recall correctly anyway, is the 64-bit version of Skyrim and can use system resources a lot better than the original, which is 32-bit. However there’s quite a different assortment of mods that are game specific, as in only for Special and only for regular. Personally I have both and think the Special has a weird filter effect / grainy blur to it that the original doesn’t, but they’re both Skyrim and both wonderful, so go with whichever variant you can get your hands on. <:3

Also, if you haven’t played Fallout 3 or New Vegas yet, go buy those too as the base version of either game is $3.30 right now and $10 for the versions with all the DLC. It’s made by the same gaming company that made Skyrim, but the world is post-apocalyptic and the theme is open-world / RPG / Shooter. It’s grand and hiiiiiighly recommended, especially New Vegas!
