ONCOMING RAMBLING
Alright so to get this out of the way, no I'm not out of hiatus yet, I don't feel ready *of course I'm still taking commissions wink wink nudge nudge*, however I thought I would share this message with you to give you some ideas on why I'm on hiatus and how much things are gonna be changing content wise on here.
Truth be told there's two major reasons why I went on hiatus, one was a stagnation in art quality, I've grown frustrated with the quality of work I've been putting out at want it to be better moving forward so I've been spending a lot of time practicing.
The other reason is somehow both more personal, and yet highly relevant to the "Brand" of my artwork as a whole. and that the works involving my more *for lack of a better term* fetishy tastes.
No I haven't suddenly decided that this sort of art is bad or whatever and people shouldn't draw it, hey whatever live and let live right, but it's not what I want to really be associated, I don't want people to think of "Drjoshfox" as the guy who draws a lot of wedgie and underwear art. And of course I've been drawing much less of this content as of late outside of commissions *which BTW I'm still find to draw this sort of things for comms, I can't really afford to be picky and there's good money in it*, but still, it's easily the most consumed type of work I post online, even when it's something with far less effort, for instance I posted this pic:https://www.deviantart.com/drjoshfo.....iews-727741210 literally titled "gotta get them views" and it managed to garner in about 27 favs and 243 views, for one of my pieces thats pretty good especially for a crappy doodle.
Meanwhile more detailed pics like https://www.deviantart.com/drjoshfo.....VIBE-748279623 this one only managed to get about 7 favorites and 47 views even though I put far more effort into it.
To say nothing of some unfortunate experiences I've had with people getting into contact with me, acting like these pieces are somehow invitations to be way too forward with me or like I somehow owe them intimate details about myself, like it's just a thing that happes in fetish communities or something. I never even considered myself part of the fetish community, but others sure did it seems, and sometimes it would make me really uncomfortable, now it isn't always the case, but there have been some instances where I've indeed basically been harassed by people asking to know very VERY personal details about myself and it's just kind of gotten to a breaking point.
It's a shadow I don't really want cast over my work anymore. and I'm sorry if that upsets or maybe even offends some of you, but c'est la vie. Things change as do people. This won't be the only thing changing either.
My sona fox and characters associated with him will be taking more of a back seat in favor of original one off ideas, as well as work involving my BADVIBE webcomic project. Gotta get people interested somehow right? Fox will be sticking around of course, as will Lilith and such but more as mascots as I originally meant for them to be before I went a bit overboard.
TLDR: No more personal straight up fetish art shared en masse, yes commissioning it is fine I like money, sorry if you're upset, look forward to my webcomic BADVIBE please.

I do enjoy the views and watches. The idea that I bring other people happiness, especially in numbers verging on a thousand, is absolutely thrilling. I never imagined that that many people would ever look at something I drew. But at all times I've drawn what I do because I wanted to. They're appreciation of what I create only helps fuel my creative efforts further. The views, the favorites and the watches are addictive. I love them and I admit it. But I also feel your pain. I understand that this might not be what a person wants to do, let alone be known for, and they shouldn't have to do that in that case. I will keep watching, and I look forward to your SFW art. Keep on drawing, keep toying with your style and refining your characters and shapes ^_^. And focus on the story :D - there are three things that guide a person through a picture, eyes, naughty bits and implied lines. Lines are weakest, naughty bits are strongest. So if you're cutting out the private parts, you still have two other wonderful tools to portray your stories with ^_^. Good luck! Hope to see you back soon!
I'm disappointed at people who conflate enjoying sexual illustrations and enjoying sexual advances. Sex is intimate, or at least thought as intimate by the general public. If you are trying to enter someone's personal realm, at least be polite about it.
