get the Nikon that uses AA batteries

I have a point & shoot Nikon. The biggest problem with those, is the battery compartments are of a weak design. Since the batteries are the heaviest part of the camera, any time the camera is dropped, it will hit the tiny plastic latch, snapping. The result is now you have to either tape the compartment shut with ugly duct tape, or fit it with a small screw, which makes a quick battery changeout difficult.

I'm very glad to hear you had a good time. I have a lot of trouble with Canons, too. Sometimes they take excellent photos for cheap little cameras. Other times they frustrate me to no end. The manuals tell you NOTHING useful about dealing with real world situations, or what settings might work best...

I should, but things are so screwed up right now. The house demolition is starting soon and I’ve still got stuff to move around. I spent all last weekend tearing up the brick walk and moving the bricks to safety before the dozers roll in.
