For every action there is an equal opposite reaction, this includes the pull of gravity.

If the goo in question is less dense then the pull of the gravity on the planet in question, the upward force of the water will push the goo upwards.

I'd have settle for "Cuz' the little bulb in the lava lamp heats the goo up and it rises past the oil in the bottle as is how heat works, silly", but this? Hehehehe, good work!~

Oh? In those lamps? You may have seen that most things expand when heated yes? Well you are not making more, there is the same number of molecules. They are just growing farther apart is all. That makes them less dense.

They float back down because they lose heat and contract when they move away from the heat source.

Well... You see the men in Jinx's family have a lot of control over the pitch of our voices, but no true default pitch. If we use one pitch for a few weeks that becomes the new default for us.
