I've had a wake up call come for me from several years ago, back when I made art unbounded by the laws of physics, whether it was arguably part of a fandom or community.

I had created an entire universe of characters and species, back when I was a major scifi and toonami fan. My writing at the time was mostly Star Trek fanfics and I didn't get around to using my creations, but they have always been there, waiting.

I came across a listing for concept artist for a game dev company, and it all came flooding back to me. I'm going to create their stories and make them real, as a web comic.

I owe it to them and I owe it to me.
