Oh wow, so much dust... have I really been gone that long? O,o
It's been... well, 4 months. But that was just one streaming journal in March, so really it's been a lot longer. Sorry about that.
It had been a lot longer than 4 months since I've been to a furry convention too. 3 years and about 4 months. Life just got complicated for a bit and I didn't have the time or motivation... well, I had the motivation, just not the time or energy to focus on accomplishing things in tiny allotted increments of time in between the cracks of my schedule. So as a result, I mostly fell off the furry map (although I've been slowly working in the background).
If you guys are still here, thanks for sticking with me. I don't have the free time like I used to and so many other things going on in life, but I'll always try to keep making things that make myself and others (namely my commissioners) happy. ;)
Anyways, about my con... ANTHROCON 2018!
It had been a full 4 years since I'd been to AC, and even though money was super tight as always, me and Kat managed to get there with
thediversezabuza and
goddess_of_the_dead as road trip buddies! Yes, for once I didn't have to drive and could sleep in the back! Which I needed because of course I closed at work the night before and packed through the night, that being the only time available to do it. X3
We left early Thursday (as early as possible) and got there right on time to check in at the Double Tree. The walk to the convention wasn't too bad, but when you had to make multiple trips back and forth from the main hotel, it can get a little tiresome. Also was a little concerned about walking around at 4am in costume, but ultimately nothing bad happened. ^^
The con itself was really a blur. A slow blur, if that makes sense. Or since it doesn't, I mean the 2.5 days we were there flew by in a heartbeat, even though I was doing everything super slow, especially when you consider most of my time was spent either trying to get to/from hotel, trying to find food, getting dressed/suited, and just in between down time.
I completely ignored any and all panels, concerts, fursuit games and even the parade, even though I wanted to do all that stuff. It just didn't mesh with my f'ed up sleep schedule (I stayed up til 8am Friday doing nothing in particular. Well, I did get to dress up and hang out in the lobby as
jaynitigerpaw (who by the way, has a slightly different account of things that happened at the con. ;3)) Then I crashed until nearly 7pm, because OMG TIME FOR SLEEPING. X,x
I didn't do too much, all in all. But I did get to see a good many people I wanted to see (missed a few others) and had a few simple, but memorable moments. Dinner with
katalina. Riverside chats with
toraie and Kitt. Running into
clemfox and
aisufox then going to the rave. Strolling through dealer's den in suit and seeing
gideon. And trying out a new experience as
jaynitigerpaw.
There was so much more I could have done, but nobody ever gets to do everything on their list at AC. Also, we had to leave early Sunday or there may have been time to do more, but plenty of relaxing and fun was had still, even though I only fursuited once. And it's been 4 years since I've been to AC, so at this point I'll take whatever I can get. ^^
So yes, I'm alive. I'm well, or well enough. Plenty of stuff going on, but trying to remain connected to the furry fandom. I've still got plenty of projects up my sleeve (and commissions to complete) and I'll be working on those. Slowly, of course, but they will get done.
Also, I will be performing a musical act for the first time solo at World Wild Fur Camp (if I can put it all together in the next 2.5 months). August and September will be a frantic race to get that show set up and prepared, so I'm definitely going to be active in some ways. It will mean more videos for my new YouTube channel that hasn't officially launched yet but will do so in the near future (more on that later). Will likely upload clips and recordings to Patreon as I go along as well. ;3
After WWFC, I dunno what's next. Hopefully I can get to more cons in the future, though my money situation will have to change for that to happen (working on it). And perhaps Kat and I can go as vendors and try to pay our way that way. FWA could be possible if we do it like that, as well as the con in Raleigh 2.5 hours away, Anthro Crossroads. Plus it would get us dedicating more time to creating cool stuff for you guys (to buy).
It's a thought at least. ^^
(Remember, if you want a different look at my weekend through the eyes of
jaynitigerpaw, follow her and read about her Anthrocon Experience. If you're interested.)
I'll try to be more active here! Lots of stuff planned so I think I will. ^^
Anyways, see you guys later!

FA+

I am glad you had a great con. You guys deserve it.
Thank you. I felt a little bad knowing that, as always, doing something fun like this would result in having to pull up the ol' bootstraps and play catch up again afterwards. But I'm glad we were able to go. Hopefully next time, we'll both get to go. :3
I saw the two of you from a distance at AC, but couldn't catch up to you to say "hi" and exchange hugs.
