Heat-wave in Germany
Hey guys, how're you doing?^^
Man, this summer is really insane. Temperatures with up to 35 °C (thats 95°F for you American fuzzballs I guess ;P
It has been like that for weeks now, and it will last until late August the experts say. Thats totally atypical for German summers. We have forest fires, potato crops are failing and now chips and fries are expected to become more expensive.
I live in the far west of Germany, in Cologne, which usually has quite the moderate climate in both summer and winter, but I never experienced this before, and for such a long period of time. I almost feel like i was on vacation in Turkey or the french south, where such temperatures are standard.
I also hate the nasty constant sweating, it's driving me nuts *Shakes angry fist at the sun*
The most important thing of course is to drink as much water as possible, up to 3 liters a day, stay cool by showering lukewarm, use sun-lotion when going out for a longer period of time and not to eat fatty foods or drink alcohol. And of course wear a trendy hat to protect your head from sunstroke ;P
How do you guys beat the heat where you live?

And yeah, I guess Texas is accustomed to high temperatures, with you being down in the south with deserts and what not. But for us here its kind of a whole new experience. Even the North is hot now, and they are right at the North Sea, which keeps the climate cool up there, but not any longer it seems. Climate is going crazy this year >_>
How's the climate in Norway?
Basically when it's crazy hot you either hit the air conditioning indoors (which if it's smokey outside you've little choice) or you go swimming. Ice cream has also been a go to for me and necessity in some cases.
And wow, even Canada now. And you guys especially should have a cool climate, with you being so high up in the north and so close to Alaska and all. I need someone to export a little glacier from there over here to my garden. Call in the Mounties and the polar-bear patrol lol JK ;p
*blows on you to cool you down*
You know, you could be my personal fan-boy for the rest of the summer, how about it? Get it? Fan...Boy MUAHAHAHA I crack myself up ;p
