Down the Rabbit Hole Again

Well, this is amusing.
Furry Fandom history, by a non-furry:

Not too bad, plus I think I recognize a few people in the grainy videos, beyond y'know, the ones actually named.

I have to say, even mentioning the Disney WWII propaganda films, Disney vs. Crumb-era porn underground comics, and even his Fritz the Cat in both comic and filmed form, this documentary this far in (not to mention the comments on the Youtube page, which surprised the heck out of me) was exceptionally respectful of the fandom and its origins, even though the fellow could've easily been a judgemental dick, and I'm very impressed.
Sadly, on the page where Vootie was introduced, he called Reed Waller 'Reed _Walker_'. I'm sorry, but this totally screwed up my suspension of disbelief, I'll finish watching it later. Maybe.

Furversion, Yarf! Rowrbrazzle and perhaps Gallery deserved a mention.
A bunch of stuff was left out, but a bunch wasn't. I had almost managed to forget the Burned Furs, but the latest incarnation of "Furry Cleansing" reminds me it's not a new thing. I used to have a Burned Fur shirt at one point, for ironic reasons. Being that it was mostly Red, Black and on fire, wearing it around at a con now would probably get one labeled alt-fur.
I half wanted to list all the errors I could recognize to him. I figured others would handle it in the Youtube comments section and it seems like that is occurring. I was desperately afraid my art, or an interview including me from the Anti-Gravity room, would appear, but I shouldn't have worried, I'm not that big of a Big Name Fan.
I think Rabbi-Tom and Patphatoie were in the video, and bunches of others.
I was quite amused that FurryMuck got a couple mentions.
All that aside, I'm very happy with the core sense of 'I give a damn about your fandom, even though I'm not involved or have any say in it directly'. At no point in what I've watched of it so far, this fellow (and it looks like he's done a whole mess of culture and fan culture videos, Furry only being one he's recently covered) gave any impression that, even with the mention of Fritz and underground comics 'mature adult' foibles amongst his mentions of where we got our start, he was dumbing anything down about the fandom, calling us perverts or freaks indirectly or otherwise, and throughout it he took the subject matter with clinical seriousness and simple, honest respect of the fandom both vintage and the modern fandom and fans alike we have and are today.
I am more than a little impressed, to say the least.

He did a video on the Rajneeshpuram commune in Oregon, and it had more information than an actual TV Show (Forensic Files) which covered the same topic. Mainly, domestic bio-terrorism.
Oh, and he hilariously Does Not match his voice. At all.
"....it never does."
^_^
I guess it's like how Kagemushi doesn't actually show up at Anthrocon on stage as a gigantic, murderously stompy megawolf, instead of a swell old guy in a lab coat, huh?
