The 2-part 1st season closer of the newly revamped DuckTales was a mind-blower -- like much of this season has been. My husband actually feels that this new DuckTales may be a little bit TOO intense and serious... And I can kind of see his point. But I think I like it. The new Magica De Spell is a total Wowser, by the way...

Eh, as a kid, I loved the serious and more intense cartoons. Kids aren't dumb and don't always want only flashy colourful things on television. Quite a few will get into a good story if it's told properly in the correct medium. Heck I remember getting really upset with some old cartoons I loved that had overarching stories that were canceled on a cliffhanger. :(
