Choi Eun-Hee and Shin San-Ok were South Korea's top Director-Actress couple in the 1970's when Kim Jong-Il had them kidnapped so he could have them make movies for North Korea. After a very long, very gruesome set of years involving torture, brainwashing, and denial, they agreed to do so, making Hong Kil-Dong, and the notorious Pulgasari- North Korea's version of Godzilla.
In 1988, Choi and Shin escaped by way of Vienna, Austria to the United States. They settled in Reston, Virginia, not too far from where I live! They published their memoirs, which were to prove highly valuable to the CIA and the KCIA (Korean Central Intelligence Agency). They returned to South Korea for good in 2003. Enclosed here is a documentary version of their story, for you to enjoy.
