Flick's Q&A
Ok so I've been working on that "oc asks that reveal more than you think" meme from before, only this time we're talking to Flick to get to know him more. His responses will be in Blue and I can't promise Warren will be nice enough to NOT interfere. Again, there are references to the canon in here that aren't explained yet,
1. Do they sleep with a stuffed animal? If they have multiple, who's the favorite?
“Do I look like a kid to you? Er - no, wait, don’t answer that!”
2. Can they take care of a plant? What about a pet? What about a child?
“Of course I can take care of plants - I manage a whole farm on my own with the help of Warren in his free time. Warren considers it cheating when I use my powers to make my work easier. As for taking care of a child? Ehh, I dunno… I get rather anxious around others as it is. I don’t think I’d handle bringing up a child.”
3. Ask them to describe their love interest.
“Oh, Warren? Let’s see… Warren has a heart of gold. He can be the most caring, selfless and interesting person to be around. He always comes through whenever you need him the most, and when things get tough he pushes back hard. He’s a shoulder to lean on when times are rough and he’ll always listen to what you have to say. Most times, he's an angel.”
*cough* “Every other time he’s a fucking psychopath and would rip your head off if you so much as mildly annoy him. Bit of a hypocrite, really - since it’s usually the other way around.”
4. Do they look good in red?
“Why yes, in fact they do. My rose bushes are what keep people visiting Peterley. They're not limited to red though, I can grow them with white, yellow, pink and blue pigments too. Blue’s quite hard but I’ve managed to isolate a particular genome that pollinating insects just go bananas for. Selective breeding and natural mutation can only go so far with making the flowers robust enough to survive outside so I had to get creative to keep them purely organic. The only way to do that is by forcing cross-pollination in a controlled environment so... *blah blah blah*... Cathode tubes and electrolysis were key to discovering... *blah blah blah*... My initial assumption was... *blah blah blah*... Then as I isolated the one in particular I required... *blah blah blah*... Biodegraded plant matter... *blah blah blah*... Eventually, the mutations took effect and... *blah blah blah*...”
He misunderstood the question… Let’s just move on, shall we?
5. Speech, Speech, Speech, Speech, Will they give one, and what about?
“Hmmm…”
*starts reciting an ominous incantation in an ancient tongue of some description*
6. Who will they take advice from, no matter what it is? Who won't they take advice from, no matter what it is?
“I’ve pretty much decided to take everything Warren says as gospel. He can say the profoundest things sometimes.”
“Whatcha doin?”
“…A Q&A meme.”
“I did mine a month ago, you need to keep up.”
“Look, I’m trying to do something myself for once, so if you don’t mind - BUTT OUT!!”
7. Describe them in three words. Now let them describe themselves in three words.
Divine, Drunken Wizard.
“...Total Fucking Mess…”
“Thick, Alcoholic Butthead.”
“NOBODY ASKED YOU!!”
8. Do complex puzzles intrigue or frustrate them?
“Puzzles? I LOVE PUZZLES!! The only thing which frustrates me is trying to find one that’s even remotely challenging.”
9. Do they empathize with non-sentient things (dolls, plants, books...)
“I have heard a theory way back about how singing softly to plants make them grow bigger and juicier, so naturally I tried it out. It didn’t work but I’ve been doing that ever since because I enjoy it and I like to think that it makes the plants happy too. Warren did notice me doing that a few times, actually. I’m sure he laughed behind my back while I did but I don’t let that bother me…”
10. What age do they most want to be right now?
“...This is kind of personal, but I would like to go back to when I was a kid and relive the childhood I should have had.”
“It’s catching up with you, dummy.”
11. They've won the lottery. Spend, or save?
“I would probably try to hide it from Warren in case he makes more impulsive purchases that make a dent in our budget. Not that it would matter much, I’ll just have to make him work harder when he’s not busy working his butt off at the FS.”
12 Do they like romance in the books they read (or in the book they're in)?
“I do read novels every so often and even though the romance in them is very sappy, I do enjoy reading about it most of the time.”
13. Name one thing their parents taught them.
“...!!” *Looks away*
Mentioning his parents makes him extremely nervous. The one thing he was taught by his parents how to do was how to grow food on the farm and become self-sufficient. Let’s just leave it at that for now.
14. Would they agree with the term 'guilty pleasure'? Do they have any?
“I probably have one too many to list them all off. Pizza being the main one. I know it’s bad for me but OHHHHHoohohohhh I could go for some right now.”
15. What would they consider a waste of time— other than school or work?
“Me waiting way too long for a drink at the bar while people that were behind me are getting theirs first while I’m standing there with a dry throat. The less time I spend getting my drinks the better it would be for everyone.”
“Well gee, you should start fights and do drinking contests everywhere you go, that'll get you noticed - FLICK!”
16. If money wasn't a limit, what would they wear?
“I’ve always wanted to get a suit custom tailored for me and a nice, fancy hat. I would probably have scraped enough together if it weren’t for a certain someone wasting our budget on guns, ammo, video games, movie tickets, tacky clothes, nights out, subscriptions for cable TV, Internet and all the other stupid shit he wants.”
*Looks at Flick with a goofy grin*
17. Do they like children?
“I don’t really mind them. As long as they’re not trespassing on my farm that is.”
18. Kissing: tongue or no tongue?
“Mmmmmm… Why don’t you come closer and find out?” *Tries to lean forward until he gets pushed back.*
“NO! BAD FLICK - BAD!! He’s a tongue person, okay?”
19. Do they study before tests? Practice before job interviews?
“Always! I had been doing that my entire life, though I never really had a real test or a job before.”
20. What do they like that nobody else does?
“I’m something of a total bookworm. Always have been! Warren hates it when I’m spending all my free time reading anything I can get my hands on instead of going out with him.”
21. What would it take for them to break up with someone? What would be the last straw?
“Nothing could break me apart from Warren now, not after all that we’ve been through together! Although, assuming you meant anyone else, I would probably think abusing my trust to the point where I’m forced into doing something I absolutely will not do would probably send me off the deep end. I’m learning to become more assertive right now so it’s not a good idea to test me.”
22. Do they like being called pet names? Do they call other people pet names? What's their go-to?
“Warren calls me ‘Butthead’ and I hate it because he knows it gets under my skin. ‘Ha ha’ do you get it? Because I’m a goat and sometimes I headbutt people for annoying me? Real clever Warren, how long did it take for you to come up with that nugget of comedy gold?” *Huff*
“C’mon butthead, just admit you like it.”
“Stop - calling - me - that!”
“Heh heh, alright noggin-knocker” *hugs*
23 Stability or novelty?
“Ohh, that’s a tough one. I suppose I kind of like having the setup I got right now and I like to keep it all the same, though Warren can make that all change in a heartbeat.”
24. Honesty or charity?
“With the way the world is at the moment it’s important to step back and ask yourself if what you’re doing is affecting society at all. Being charitable to those less fortunate is a noble cause, but while those people may rely on any help they can get, individuals can only do so much. Life can appear broken and cold at first and you may believe people don’t care enough about the wider issues; Just send money to a telethon or post about it on social media without giving it much further thought than that. But someone -Warren- came along and shattered that misconception. That rabbit helped me when I needed someone the most, but he didn’t say or do anything I wanted to hear. He was forward, harsh and sometimes I felt he was downright offensive, but everything he said and did all came from the heart. Somehow, he knew the more he forced me to confront my demons and the more honest he was about it - the sooner I'd get a grip of my emotions and stand up for myself. I may not be alive today if it wasn't for his own brand of altruism - I owe my life to him! Instead of choosing between the two, he chose them both, that’s the most meaningful answer I could ever give.”
“…Flick… *sniffle* …Thank you…”
25. Safety or possibility?
“The government would most likely set restrictions on what I’m allowed to research scientifically, and that’s not including the arcane arts either. Definitely going with possibility.”
26. Talent or effort?
“Depends on how you look at it! I've dedicated my whole life so far studying the arcane arts. One time Warren made me do origami with telekinesis only, that knocked the wind out of my sail! I'm getting better at it though.”
27. Forgiveness or vengeance (or...)?
“I'm usually opposed to violence, I would rather pursue a pacifist or maybe diplomatic route at first but that has its limits. I'll admit I did more than lose my temper at times and to say the consequences were dire would be an understatement.”
28. Would they date a fixer-upper?
“I'm in a polyamorous relationship, so long as my BF is okay with it I can date other people. Besides, I like the idea of having ‘friends with benefits’ as Warren puts it.”
29. What recurring dreams do they have?
“I don't so much sleep as I do meditate and enter a separate plane of existence. I'm able to control every facet of that existence through focus. It's great practice but thanks to Warren I found more… interesting applications for this practice.”
30. What would they do if they knew it would be forgiven?
“I’m not exactly sure: Being as booksmart as I am I still find it hard to gauge other people’s emotions, sometimes they’re far too subtle to notice.”
“You’re doing just fine the way you are. We’re done here folks.”
1. Do they sleep with a stuffed animal? If they have multiple, who's the favorite?
