Well let's see, calling back to the 80s and 90s is pretty mainstream at the moment, what with movies like It and (God forbid) Ready Player One finding critical, if not commercial success. We're a culture that's really heavy on nostalgia at the moment, and the fact that the Thirty-Year Rule keeps reaffirming itself in American media, I can only say this: give it a couple more years and media culture will start throwing back to Hilary Duff and coverage of Middle America evangelicals decrying Pokemon as satanic. Pretty much everyone born between 1990 and 2000 are adults now, and they're gonna eat it up.


As for me, I'm not really affected by nostalgia, not anymore at least. I'd chalk that one up to being exposed to the '90s kids' stereotypes of late 2000s/early 2010s internet fame.

I like to enjoy remembering the past but not enough to revel or overtly embrace it as those do in previous decade nostalgia call backs.

What would I wear that could only be associated with 2000s?

It was cool to hear the difference between early Timberlake, Maroon 5, Coldplay, and see how much they fallen off today.

Personally, I like looking how music evolves through time. It's been my latest hobby.
