There's tons of trolls that'll tend to have nothing better then to harass and ruin other people's lives.

how can that be against their terms of service? I know Patreon is big on anti-bestiality, but can they really have a say on what their creator does on other sites not affiliated with their own?

It looks like their payment processor moved to the UK. The UKs 'free speech' and obscenity legal history in the courts is somewhat less 'free' than in the US, especialy recently. It wouldn't surprise me if simple association is enough for legal problems in the UK. I don't really know, but a possible reason for sudden increasingly conservative judgment of page and even off-site creator activity.

Regardless of speculation of intention, the fact that the 'crackdown' and the switch to a UK provider exactly correspond make it unlikely that they are unrelated.
