Oren’s Forge, What’s Up
I’ve gotten a ton of questions about my comic, Oren’s Forge, in the last few weeks. First off, thanks for those. Hearing people care about it and still think about it means more than you know.
So, what’s up —
First off, no, it’s not over. I just posted a new page because hot damn, leaving it where I did for so long was a bit of a downer. Sorry about that.
I stopped working full time on the comic last December for a planned break, then events in subsequent months made it harder and harder to work on it. The year’s been a rough one for a variety of reasons that I won’t get into, feel free to use your imagination; I hope there’s sharks and jet-packs and explosions involved. The most salient part of stalling out on Oren’s Forge was simple: free webcomics don’t pay any bills, so that time had to go elsewhere.
Oren’s Forge didn’t start behind a paywall, and I don’t really want to end with one— so, no Patreon plans. Big thanks to those of you who would gladly pay for it, you guys rock! Instead, maybe share the comic with some friends or pick up a hard copy when that comes to fruition (you can do that right now in French, if you want.)
Good news is, I’m sitting on some finished pages, I have more sketched out, and the entirety of the second half is laid out. Now it’s about finding the time and will power to pick it back up (comics are…draining.)
I don’t want to give a date that I’ll resume posting yet.
TL;DR: Oren’s Forge is not dead, it’s not forgotten, it’ll be back!
Thanks!

And thank you for that new page, ending on page 70 was a gut punch way to go.
edit: To clarify, even if you didn't get enough support from patreon to 'pay the bills' I'd still be happy to contribute regardless. I cannot overstate how much I enjoyed this comic out of all the things i've seen over the years it's one of my favorite things.
Also good to see Oren's Forge continue.
Good luck with the hard life, i understand it a little too much!, all my best wishes!
Also still need to pick up some french hardcopy.
I'd be more than happy to do that.
