You can report this user, other people as well.

I'm filing a report on steam about the user that'll have the account investigated. Would help if I had more information like your steam profile. But anyway, I suggest everyone report that user's account. I used this exact text in my report, I suggest not copy/pasting, but using similar.

The name they are using and the art they have put on their account all belongs to someone else. The user who actually owns the name and all of the art is quite annoyed, she posted a journal about it on her primary site that someone on Steam took her name and is pretending to be her.

I don't actually know you that well other than you're an artist who uploads some stuff I like. xD I assume female pronouns with "femderg" on your profile so.

Steam most likely takes no action unless they have posted your art onto their profile or used your art in any other way as a part of it. - Obviously this is not the case if their chat logs are full of fraudulent activity.

If you actually want to take action against this user, file a DMCA claim against them; I’m quite sure a few people have already asked / told you to do this.

in some ways i like to think its an honor to have an impostor because someone wants to be you.

HOWEVER it also sucks when they aren't trying to be their own person. as i know one artist who had like....3 or 4 impostors in about a year and a half. it became a headache for him and everyone else

Well damn... There seems to be no end to these pirates. What don't they get about "copyright"? Seems some people out there don't have any remorse for stealing, and impersonating someone.

Having loads of fans is cool. But if your fans start to impersonate you, that's not cool. And a bit creepy too. It seems most big name artists, and characters seem to have this problem. Where their fans have a crush on their artwork, and start to use it themselves. Or even steal it. I really hope that this can be stopped. Before it becomes too big of a problem.

I hope you can have this resolved soon, and deal with this person.
