need help modding Fallout 3 steam version

gonna keep this simple
I have Fallout 3 GotY on steam, U want to mod it but well i never modded before so i need some help.
I know some mods i want to use form nexus mods but i am not sure if they are working right or not. So if anyone is willing to help me please send me a note.
Also i still have issues with the game minimizing even though i followed all i could find on fixing it.
