I’ve been thinking about this genre a lot for upcoming projects. I do enjoy reading regular and furry romance comics, so I would like to tackle the genre myself one day after these backgrounds are all done. I just have some concerns. Concerns about drawing sex.

I know that sex, especially furry sex, can sell really really really well. But, this is probably the anxious and lazy side of me talking, I just don’t feel like drawing it? My human and humanoid figures have suffered a bit from lack of practice and drawing too many animal characters. So it’s probably my fear of imperfection guarding me from failure. There’s also the negative stigma that I’d be afraid of from friends and family, future job prospects (not that there’s a line for my resume or anything). And I’ve been socially absent for quite awhile, so I kind of forgot what it feels like? Whoops, lol.

If I were to tackle a romance comic right now, it’d probably be just be light romance? Light to heavy kissing, same with heavy petting, etc. But then I think of people who might be all, “Why would I read this tease when I can have free sexy drawings served to me on the silver-blue platter that is e621?”

I’m overthinking it probably, as I do most things.

But anywho, if anyone has some favorite romance comics I would love to have some examples sent my way. It’d also be fun to hear and discuss your own thoughts. What do you enjoy reading? Do you have a preference for cheesecake or hardcore romance? What do you prefer to draw?
