The Trouble with Lower Middle Class Apartment Living

Rogo te legere hic...
Pro tip: when moving into an apartment, be sure that your management is not crooked. The first time they deviate from their terms, DOCUMENT IT. Oh goodness gracious document it. They will try all KINDS of messed up legal stuff and if you aren't properly protecting yourself, you will get hurt, financially or in rental history. It's unfair how messed up these people can be when it comes to providing you a home but their ultimate goal is to make money and in the shadier complexes, they will ignore you if you don't do anything to stand up for yourself.
My landlord literally walked today and said, "if you don't complain about pests, we don't know to take care of them." It seems to place the blame on you, but pests will always be a problem when multiple people live in a tight quarters. The reasons my husband and I are struggling
with cockroaches is not because we didn't complain or even because the people below us left without notice and left the apartment in foul condition. It's because the landlords, in the midst of changing leadership forgot to spray out units for almost 5 months. The blame is squarely on their shoulders.
Ignore this if you wanna, I just lifted this rant from my Twitter because I'm worried about a lot of things concerning my move and the money I'll be spending on top of our worsening pest problem.

Dealing with roaches is no fun at all, my family has gone through it once years ago, and we definitely don’t plan on going through it again.
Be sure to pull big objects away from the walls, sweep the floor around the wall, and caulk up and cracks or holes that you may find! That’s how we have been keeping them out all these years.
yo this shit is scary wtf is up with people
