It's confusing, but makes a nice parity with shemales. Its about bodily proportions. In general, artists are taught that when drawing very clear human forms males are built like an inverted triangle, having shoulders wider than the hips, while females are built like a teardrop with narrow shoulders and rounded hips. The anatomy makes sense in the context of gestation and childbirth. Its really more a swap of genitals but nothing else. You take the female form, teardrop, and add a penis, shemale. You take the male form, inverted triangle, and add a vagina, c-boy. If you notice, even though may C-boys are androgynes, they more or less take on an intentionally masculine overall feel, which is usually engphanced by context and background that gives them a unique "guy but with a vagina" overall feel. But I'm not a psychologist, I'm a layman who works in the humanities. This is just personal observation.

My understanding is that, much like how "shemale" is an insulting term for transwomen (Feminine Gender, typically assigned Male at birth due to sex/anatomy), this is a similarly insulting term f;or transmen (Masculine Gender, typically assigned Female at birth due sex/anatomy).

As for the pornographic purpose, I have no idea. General rule of thumb though: try not to think too hard about people's fetishes. Down that path lies nothing but migraines.

Well to be hones, it actually is a natural, though extremely rare, condition in which a gender is born with the opposite genitalia. The term for it is known as Intersex.

the only thing i know about gay is that it don't make babies and in a world as over populated as ours this is a very good thing.

why is this even a question? is there some reason it should matter?

I just never got why it's all of a sudden a thing. Don't read too much into it.
