i knew that i just didnt know german kids went to school that long

What i wanted to say is that you cant really compare german and american schools that way. Im neither in college nor in highschool
And i went to elementary school at the age of 6, you go into kindergarden at the age of 2/3.

In germany after you are done with 4 years of elementary school you either go to middle school OR highschool (theyre not actually called that)
Theyre based on how intelligent you are. It used to be 3 schools but was recently changed.

So in middle school you stay from 5.-10th grade and in highschool from 5-13 (or 12 depending on what high school system youre at)
I went to one with 12 years, switched schools last year to a 13 year one and repeated one year in the process ergo 14 years of school total to get the highest degree you can get before university

thats like, preschool yeah we have that here but around here at least most see that as a daycare and its not nessicary to put your kids in, i know some who did and some who didnt
i knew some of that stuff already out of context you told me when you swicthed schools but thats so much different
at least you know its worth getting a good degree but damn 12 years was enough lol

No its not preschool. We do also have preschool but i think its for 4-5 yo. So you either stay in kindergarden or go to preschool and then you get into elementary

im assuming the idea of kindergarden is german based on the word itself
