Finally Finished!
Last Friday, the 12th of September, I had my last radiation treatment. I'd been taking them 5 days a week for the last 6 weeks, minus a few days I had to skip because I was hurting too badly. This was the follow up to the cancer surgeries I had on my nose and cheek. Basically a CYA thing to make sure that any cancerous cells left in me would be killed instead of given a chance to get another foothold. So now, hopefully, I'm cancer free, though only time will tell for absolute sure. I see the Oncologist again in about a month for her to look me over and for me to tell her if anything seems off. If she doesn't suggest another PET CT scan, I may ask for one for my own peace of mind. It would show any buildup of cancerous cells in my face or nearby. I'll see when the time comes.
So, to any of you sun worshipers out there, be warned. Even a little skin cancer that the dermatologist can scoop off in his office can be a fooler and turn into something a lot more serious and painful. Use sunblock!! Wear a hat! And don't try to be the tannest person in the room! I'm positive I'd have never gotten this cancer if I hadn't spent hours lying on the beach every day in Mexico, soaking up sun. Anyone interested in seeing before, during and after pix of how this affected my face, I'll be glad to send you a link to a few. I don't think I'll put it here, just to prevent any whining that the surgery picture is too grody. =p
But here are some cool pix of me in my Hannibal Lecter mask that they used to hold me captive for my radiation treatments. It's pretty interesting how they do that.

I get sunburnt way before I could get a tan. Snow White for life!
I hope this is the last I'll see of it also. I would NOT want to go through anything close to this again!
I'm glad you're done with it and hope you don't have to go through anything like that again.
Thanks, Lauren. I agree totally!

Of Course I may have to practice my Braille Reading also..... You know, in case the lights should Suddenly and Unexpectedly Go Out... For some Unforeseen Reason....
At least until the lights are out and your Good and Comfy!
What's this lights out thing? They stay on while you're in the room. If it's just me and Megan, I really con't mind either way.
Bastard's Degree.......that one I'll believe!
Well, i could Look Her over Too... It'll be a "Two for One Sale" on Examinations! ......... And No one's Ever accused Dr.Draggy of Being Smart! Foolish.... Yes, but not Smart!
It's not for me to say how she knows. That's for her to tell. Just remember, she IS a vampire as well as a werewolf. Sometimes vampires take blood from sleeping people without their knowledge, you know. I know I do and I'd bet she does too. We is sneeky, we is.
I thought she was just Werewolf, i didn't realize she retained the Vampire side Too!
Now draggy's a little Scared......
Kat just happens to be both, were and vampire. As you say, a potent combo.
Also, about those pictures...Sorry to scare you with a bad news just like that, but those are the next line of medical-bondage-rape equipment.
I suspect you weren't ill at all, just got drugged and raped by kinky doctors and nurses...Well, the good news is, that you are healthy.
So, you're saying I'm right there having cutting edge bondage experiences and didn't even realize it? Slow bunny must be slow.
I don't talk about, what I am going trhu' at the mammography or lung cancer check machine...
Glad you came out of it okay. And lets hope its gone for good now.
Thanks, Monte! I definitely hope so.
I take great care to keep covered up and wear sunblock nowadays. And stay out of the sun as much as possible.
Thanks for asking!
But then I haven't been much interested for a long, long time. My last girlfriend was back in the 1970s. I turned into a loner. Perfectly happy to be by myself. Still couldn't picture myself dating, much less living with another person....any other person. I'm so set in my ways it'd drive me crazy.
