PS4 not reading discs
I'm having a problem with my PS4 not reading discs. My roommate changed out the disc drive, but it still won't read discs. I've tried all kinds of games, and it just doesn't work.
Has anyone had this problem and solved it?
I'm contemplating saving up and taking it to a local electronic repair shop, but I was reading around on google and a lot of people seemed to be suggesting that could be risky too.

Sooo, he's speculating that I might need to switch out the mother and sister board, but I was hoping someone might have some other ideas before I go purchasing that stuff in the near future.
He said it was installed properly because it isn't throwing the CE-35888-2 Error Code.
I guess I could return the disc drive and try another, but I wasn't sure if it was still a disc drive issue or if it might be something else.
It all started with my daughter getting some water on it (Not submerged, but still). When it was moved, the power was still on, and there was a disc inside that was apparently still spinning, and it became stuck. Upon getting the disc out, it looked a bit frayed, but all of that wiped away.
The old disc drive was cleaned off, and I reset the thing, but it was still throwing disc not found up.
That's when the new drive was ordered, but it is doing the same thing. I've even had trouble with discs still getting stuck if it's not flat. Sometimes I still have to tap it on the top a bit to get the disc to come out.
I'm not sure which of these events has caused the damage, but I'm sure it was one of them (if not both.). Prior to these two things, I had no problems at all.
It's just the base PS4.
Thank you!
