Less social mostly :/ and there’s now bot accounts and crap that pop up

FA is still the biggest and """best""" furry specific site there is, so I don't think it'll quite ever die, but a LOT of creators are trying hard to move to other places so I think it seems like a lot of activity is declining.

I've noticed it. been on and off FA under different accounts for 12 years and there's definitely been a sharp decline lately - I think there's a trend more towards users hosting commission stuff on social media (twitter/insta/FB) and treating FA more like a portfolio.

yeah, this feels the most accurate I think, I used to ALWAYS be on Fa and use other stuff as just side posting, Now theres so much activity on Instagram this is my side site.

From what I heard Twitter is booming for artist right now.

I just can't seem to get followers on there, is there a catch? I post like here but I never get follows or likes.

Same here, recently did a free small raffle and that did boost my watcher by 50+ but can't say they are all active.

Well, I've always been fairly active, but I don't upload a whole lot (due to a whola lotta nonsense reasons but nevertheless!), but I do try to interact with people here; I guess it's not super easy to do that, though? There isn't really an efficient friend or chat system, which I suppose would help there.. that's only my speculation, though.
I sincerely hope it isn't dying, though, since I wouldn't know where else to upload all my nasty art to! ;D

It just feels like FA is where artists dump their art to. I've tried interacting with people but I'm pretty much a nobody so I don't get much social interaction on this site.

Nah, I'm seeing it too- both on FA and deviantart. People are posting less on art sites, and more on sites like facebook and twitter and instagram. That and tumblr... eugh...
I personally find myself being less active on all of the sites because drama, politics, and no time due to college. But I'd imagine that's kinda rare, maybe people are also just being less social? I'm not sure.

P.S.: Oh boy, I wrote a lot. I'm going to put all of it in a document somewhere and rewrite a summary.

Personally I (and a depressing number of other artists I know of) have hit a wall of depression. Not necessarily in the medical sense, but...

Art-Block/Medical Depression:
I hit an art block wall hard during my first year of college. Sure, I do a few base/line colors for adopts, but even half of those end up tossed. My newest round of medications are specifically geared towards killing creativity in favor of focus.

Interior Destruction:
A handful of the artists I know have had fallings out with either other artists, a fan or fanbase, or with plain-old face-to-face relationships.

Exterior Destruction:
My first "celebrity" crush was absolutely destroyed by something around their first year of college. On the obscenely rare occasion that they show up to their group (of which they were a cofounder), they still act the same and even joke about their dropped serieses, but...

All that being said, some new creators are popping up, by they obviously prefer newer/different platforms (because, admit, FA is aging fast. :( )

Someone said it right up above, It doesn't feel like a social platform, not sure if its even meant to be. But it would be nice if it had more social options aside from the hell that is the forums.

Its just an art gallery dump for me now because barely anyone is online and im barely online so I dont see commission openings. Twitter is the best social platform, but its too bad theres not a furry-only space for artists besides furry amino, which has a bed rep because so many kids use it, and isnt a good platform for nsfw artists. x_x

seems very less social overall. I'm not meaning to come off as pushy like everyone HAS to reply to your comment or note but it does seem less "friendly" and unwelcoming, especially since I'm new to the furry community and wanting to get to know my way around more.
