oshi~! another rant!

I dunno any more. I'm usually on the internet constantly, but lately, I haven't been hanging around these sites, nor have I been paying much attention to IRC.
I've also been using more stimulants and avoiding sleep as much as possible. I keep telling myself to work on my website, but I still haven't touched it since the 7th. I don't even know why.
I'm getting sick and tired of people who think clock-speed is the the most important thing influencing performance. Users that ignore my product recommendations, get what they think is best, and then expect me to install and support it. Users that can't even recognize slight lag when they are experiencing it. At least I was adamant about the wifi router. I'm still not happy about it, but it is significantly better then the previous one.
Also pissing me off is copy-protection. Apparently, using a CD or DVD burner makes me a software pirate. Infact, some CP methods break useful applications for mounting ISOs and for programming. Oh. and the user isn't consulted about it, either. This isn't a new issue, but I'm mad anyway. The other day, I was trying to get an app working under XP x64 (I hate everything windows stands for, and yet, I still keep it around.... I hope I'll never need to touch vista though, nor do I intend on supporting it for my users.) It refused to work, because it wanted the 32-bit version. Well, in the end, I forced it to work anyway, but it reminded me of SC: Chaos Theory. Due to starforce copy protection, chaos theory doesn't work on my system. Ubisoft refuses to fix it, and starforce says it is ubisoft's responsibility. A game I bought refuses to run due to the copy protection. Frankly, corporations are going too far these days. Starforce exhibits behavior that would classify it as malware. Infact, it has been classified as malware and starforce threatened lawsuits and FBI involvement. ex: http://www.boingboing.net/2006/01/3.....hreatens_.html
How much more crap are consumers expected to take?
I guess what frustrates me more is the fact that so many don't care until it is too late. It's a lot harder to regain freedoms once they've already been taken from you.
(I can't even say I'm completely innocent, because I still use things that restrict my freedoms, but at least I'm making an effort to use things like GNU/linux and speak out against things like this)
