Happy Halloween everyone!
It's been a while (apologies), and I figured an update was long overdue.
It turns out that wired internet at the new place isn't likely, and I'd been waiting to post an update about that until I was fairly certain one way or another.
With end/beginning of the year bills coming up and me having to help out family financially, wired internet is going to have to take a back seat for now. The options in my new neighborhood are very limited, and not ideal (1mbps DSL, 3mbps max at best) anyway, so I'm not sure how well that would have worked out.
What I'm thinking is, as a compromise, I could try to do short-ish streams occasionally using my cellular internet--it's supposed to be faster than the DSL would be, but with the drawback of having a limit on high speed data.
I'm planning to do a test stream soon to figure out what settings work best, but does that sound like something people would be interested in? I would love some feedback!
In other news, I'll be putting up those finished spooky paintings in a couple of days, and I'm accepting commissions for November. I also have an art channel I recently made on telegram! https://t.me/Obelysart

Thats what we have to use as the only other option is dial up here.
I'm still going to try for DSL once things even out a bit, but in the meantime I'm really hoping this cell tethering thing works out.
The real frustration for us is that if the box at the end of our road was upgraded we'd be able to get VDSL here.
(I think that's actually an option here, but I've had people tell me to steer clear.)
That does sound frustrating, and I can kinda relate--comcast is available right down the road from me, just not on my actual street :')
What is worse is that the company that owns the box will not upgrade boxes with less than 50 connections on them even if the customers want to pay for the upgrade themselves.
