Updates: 31 Oct'18 -Life, Scrap Bomb, Stance on Gifts/Trades

General
Good day all! Been a while so here's just some updates for those interested ^^
Firstly; Life Updates!
I've been job hunting rather unsuccessfully for a while xD I am still pretty much looking for a job so there's that! Till then, I'll be doing mainly commissions as a source of income but from where I'm am, it is unfortunately not something sustainable. :< That said, I will be opening for commissions (November), for about 4-5 slots! A formal journal will be made so keep an eye out if you're interested! :>
Next; Scrap Bomb;
The past month was Inktober and I participated in every day of it ^^ so I intend to upload SOME of them here, into scraps. They will be mainly those I felt stood out pretty well and something I want to share. :> I hope I will continue doing Inktober next year - it is rather time-consuming and challenging xD My entire Inktober is done and posted on my Twitter if you're interested in checking it out! [ https://twitter.com/LuxuriaLethe ]
Lastly; Gifts/Trades
I love those and in a way, I am always open for Trades, subject to both free time, complexity and a lot of other factors. Please do not feel offended if I refuse a trade - it is usually something on my end ^^"
Gifts (from me to others) have been curtailed to a large extent now. This is because I do take note of the way the "art" I do is treated, and how the recipient reacts to it. More often than not, when I do gift something, the most I expect is a "thanks!" in return. The rationale is simple - I don't want to do something someone doesn't want. This is a huge waste of my time and if it doesn't elicit a positive response from the recipient, then it is also an indirect refusal of it. Yes, this is not hypothetical and has happened before, which is why I have decided to make it public. At this point, I am more comfortable with a reciprocity mindset - if I do something, I would rather be compensated which I believe, is a rather fair approach. :D
I am also working on a little personal project that I hope will bear some fruition - expect something in December! :> Let's just say it has a bit to do with Coffee and Cake~ ;3
If you sat through and read all of this, thank you so much for listening to my rants! :D I am looking for some fanart to sketch (probably tomorrow), so do shout-out some of your favorite Canine/Dragon characters and link to how they look - I might just doodle one~ :>
Stay fancy~~~

Loving the Inktober pics.
Oh I know what you mean about Gifts, but more from the receiving end of things. I always feel awkward about it , and feel if I ask for something I would have commissioned from an artist I'd be cheating them out of money they deserved. So for my own sanity, I came up with a solution that's made me feel better about it. I now have two lists, one for art I'll commission and another for art I'd request from an artist. The request list is just as good for a gift idea if you ask me and makes me feel a lot better about it in the long run. Still feel crappy for getting a freebie though...
The fact you've had to deal with people just saying "yeah I don't like this art you made for me for free" is kind of disgusting really. I'd feel terrible that you DID something without financial compensation or something of equal value. Some people...
Anytime. Reading rants that are open for dialogue where I get to rant a little back is the best thing really. We can rant about our woes to each other and hopefully let off some steam.
Stay fancy? Honey they couldn't stop me.
Welp...that's Japan I guess. I wonder if I'm understand the music video more if I could understand Japanese, or if they're just as random as it looks? Thanks for the recommendation though. Not my cup of tea, but always nice to try something new. Here's my retort: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NxbnqF8vSAQ
Haha yea the gifts thing is just a minor rant - no one has ever said anything like that directly (thank god) but their actions are what I observe and sometimes, it is more than enough isn't it? xD Anyway its just a minor rant so, nothing big and all mainly in the past!
Ahaha yes, its a very random song video about the obstacles/experiences as an Office Lady in Japan xD - Thanks for the new music video ;3 I'll be giving it a listen!
That's good to hear that no-ones been cheeky enough to just dismiss a kind act like you gifting them art. But yeah their actions can speak volumes sometimes. Makes me think of this guy I used to be friends with who just...stopped talking to me, and when I reached out to them asking if they were okay they responded with blocking me on every platform. So actions are all you need sometimes.
Sounds...interesting. And your welcome, hope you enjoy it. ;3
And yea, I guess that's what they mean when they say actions speak louder than words xD
Love your inktobers! Great art as always! (Honestly! Your art kinda got me to start practicing drawing again )
I really don't understand how people could behave that way when given art as a gift! The artist is already no being paid for their time, they at least deserve your gratitute! Oh well I'll just continue to commission artists!
Rants are a good thing, and you've got people here to listen and support you! As for coffee and cake... can't wait too see what that will lead too and I wish you much luck!
Ohhh so many canines/dragons. I suppose Zoroark is one of my favorite foxes. As for dergons, I'll throw Drumm at you!

Hurray! More music to listen to while I do inktober!
Thank you so much! Good to hear you are also drawing! <3
And oh, it isn't as bad as it sounds, plus it is in the past~ all's fine xD especially since I am more confident about myself now, I know better to constantly seek approval via giving free stuff :P
Heh you already got some insight into Coffee and Cake - hope you'll like what else I come out with! ;3
I'm logging Zoroark and Drumm now ;3
Yeah finally found out that I can enjoy drawing if I'm not being forced to in a class so I've been trying to learn and improve after not touching art for about 6 years. I suppose it's just from seeing so much great art!
Glad to know that it's less of a problem now! Hope it stays that way!
Mmm yes much insight! Can't wait to see what else comes out of it!
Cool! Can't wait to see possible doodles!
That's good that you're drawing, we need more creators in this fandom definitely xD <3
And I am sure you will like it ;3 hhuuhuhuhu~
Job hunting blows, I know, but keep at it and things'll work out in time! Also that coffee and cake thing really piques my interest~
Yes - I am not going to stop hunting (not that I have the option really xD) hopefully it looks up by next year - it is already end of October :<
And yiss, I hope its something you will enjoy~
Anywho good to hear from ye and it's all gucci!
Stay tuned~~~
Also, coffee? cake? Sign me up.
And yiss, I hope you'll like what it is :D
