Make CERTAIN it's a model that runs regular windows software -- that is, does NOT have an ARM processor.

All PCs since the 80s have used the X86 chip. A few years back, Microsoft tried to sell a new tablet with the ARM processor, because ARMs use less power and have longer battery life. But because there's almost no software for the Windows ARM combo, people were buying 2000$ computers that couldn't run anything but Office. Needless to say, people were royally ticked off that all the software they already owned and was out in the world would not run on brand new Windows computer.

I've no idea if they can work as well as a Cintiq, with pressure sensitivity and such. I think some new higher end models can. My daughter uses a Bamboo Create and I know she uses the pressure sensitivity a LOT in her artworks.

I have the original surface book. Ive had it for a few years now and love it! I use photoshop on it all the time and it even runs Steam surprisingly well.

I've used a Pro 1, 2 and 4 now and absolutely love it. I use it for all of my digital work. As said above be sure it runs normal Windows so you can run your standard art programs. I take mine with me everywhere I go!
