Straight Talk: Go Vote Please.

Turn your magic on, to me she'd say...
Everything you want's a dream away.
Everything you want's a dream away.
Well, here it is, Americans.
I don't often say much of anything here like this, so this should give some indication of how important it is to me. Trump has run rampant in office since he was elected, the racists, hate mongers and flatly insane have rallied all over the country it seems, and every day you read about some new lie or crazy thing our president is doing.
Attempting to redefine gender so it's only based on biology at time of birth? Yup.
Trying to revoke birthright citizenship, basically telling people born here that they're not American? Yup.
Continually ramping up tarriffs against China, even though doing so is rebounding against every American company and making things worse for everyone? Of course.
Kissing up to Putin and Saudi Arabia because 'money'? *smooching noises*
Blanket labeling everyone of a specific race as equal? Because if one of them proves to be a murderer or breaks a law, then ALL of them are gonna do it, right?!
Right on point.
And everyone in his party is just coasting along behind him, enjoying the craziness and the 'popularity'. ...more like enjoying the way he does such outlandish things that the relatively small things they're doing are going virtually unnoticed.
Maybe you're FOR Trump, and feel he's doing a great job. That's fair. Please go out and make your voice heard as well by voting. But please. Don't just lay at home and say 'Nothing I feel or do will matter.' or 'Even if I do vote, it's already been decided.'
Your vote counts. Let your voice be heard.

There's simply no excuse to not vote. Some people are doggedly determined to not only discard their voting rights, but to convince others to also abandon voting.
I don't care what someone votes for, even if it is in support of candidates and policies that literally call for my death, as a jewish person. I want even these people to vote, because I would rather have 1 bigot vote than keep 100 normal people from voting.
And for an alternative perspective, here's a message from Gay Talk: Everyone, go and vote! You'll be super glad you did! GooooooOOOOOOO VOTE, YAY!
If he is going to remove entire families from the US after they recently moved in illegally, that's fine. But if the people have been living here, not causing trouble, paying taxes and simply raising their family, the focus should be on getting them naturalized and 'on the books'; not uprooting them and throwing them into a country that is unstable and unsafe.
Everyone in the US is an immigrant except the native americans, if you think about it (those of us who came here willingly, rather than being forced to come here. :P). It's one of the reasons we accepted so many in the first place; the sheer hypocrisy of telling people who come here looking for a better life that they aren't wanted here is monumental.
I hope you also recall that most immigrants that came here got screened at Ellis Island, and you know what? There was those turned away if they couldn't 1. Support themselves to work. 2. Had diseases that could kill people and were very contagious. There's also a few other reasons as well. Simply saying for justification anyone could and did is wrong.
There's also only two genders and that bs needs to stop of there being more than that. I think the issue stems from partially people being open on that from being in the furry community and others like it. Herms aren't natural for humans. Only a few animals are like earthworms, and unless it's plausible for fantasy makes no sense. You're either a male or female, stop listening to crack pot teachers tell you otherwise~
China's bootlegged and ripped off trillions off the US. We wouldn't have had a debt with them in the first place if they didn't sell shit merchandise. 90% of their goods rip off what others actually make. Stop supporting China and they deserve the tariffs to rip them a new one to actually give better trade deals.
I don't doubt there are some illegals who come into the country and have kids, but I *do* find it unlikely, or at least an extremely low percentage who come here illegally then start breeding for the sake of welfare. Maybe they have kids while living here illegally... but that's not their intention before they enter the country. That feels and sounds like a sort of 'immigration phobia' that people are sneaking in to breed within our borders, then suck us dry through welfare.
As for Ellis Island, yes a lot of people came into the country through there, and a lot of them got turned away. But do you feel like those situations are still in effect today? Do you feel like the people entering the country illegally are bringing in infectious diseases en masse, or that most of them... or even half of them... can't support themselves? I dunno about you, but when I look at neighborhood businesses, I often see landscaping or home repair companies started and run exclusively by hispanics. From what I've seen of how they live, they are very industrious, and they support each other to help each other to become independant. The only other culturally similar group I know of are orientals who have a strong work ethic and equally strong supportive communities.
And yes, people still snuck into the country and started families who are today considered perfectly fine and even well established. Compare that to today, where ICE will go after someone who has been paying taxes, on the books as being here legally and working with a large, also well established family, then hold them for weeks trying (and often succeeding) in deporting them on a technicality. Noe man got held for weeks because he had a legally settled arguement with his then wife 20 years ago.
It is not the government's job to tell people what their gender is. And besides that, the issue isn't if there are two genders. It's telling someone who's had a sex change operation that they're still the same gender as beforehand, and nothing can change that. Not their mental state or their physical state. Imagine going through all those treatments and surgeries only to be told none of that mattered. That's what Trump is trying to do. Herms aren't an established gender type, but more of an abnormality of birth, sure. That doesn't mean that they don't exist, or shouldn't be recognised as existing. What should we call someone who was born a herm? ...or do you advocate forcing a choice at birth that would scar them for life, cutting off something and cutting out parts to make the baby one or the other? They exist, and they deserve to be recognised as existing, and treated with respect... just like every other human being.
As for 'China's ripped off and bootlegged trillions from the US'... lol. Name something. Gucci? Not a US product? Armani? Not a US product. Making bootleg products isn't 'ripping off' anyone as most people know what they're getting isn't real, and couldn't afford the real thing even if they wanted it... which is why they buy the knockoffs. I challenge you to name one thing China has 'ripped off' from the US, costing us trillions. I expect to see some kind of reference, btw.
And again... this comment kinda misses the point. China makes certain things we use here at a certain cost. When Trump leaned on them with tarriffs, it essentially made those things harder to get for the people OVER HERE who use them. This means it costs the companies that buy them more for that machine part, that resource, that electronic thingie. And so first the companies take a hit, having to pay more to China for stuff. This means some people might lose their jobs to counter balance the increased costs. Stores get shut down or factories close. People are unemployed suddenly. Then the cost gets passed onto us, the consumers. You DO realize that the companies just charge you and I more for the things they have to pay more for themselves, right? And with each new tarriff, Trump extends that effect to yet another company, product, investor... person who uses those products. He might as well be charging those people directly for using something with a chinese made part in it.
Also? Let me put you in China's pants for a second. You've been selling me candy every month, and making a nice profit, when I suddenly say, 'Hey! You've been cheating me all this time! Now you need to pay ME in order to sell any of your stuff on my street. I'm still only gonna pay YOU the same amount though.'...Would you continue to sell me things? Or go to some other neighborhood? Yes, the US is a huge consumer market, but there are other options. Now imagine you say in response, 'Well if you're gonna charge me to come over here, I'M gonna charge you more to buy from ME!' And in response, I slapped you in the mouth. Does this sound like it would lead to better trade relations, or to a fight? Think about it.
