Smash Bros Ultimate Final Direct Opinions

Hey everyone, I waited a few days to post this so people could watch it if they needed more time. Wanted to talk about my views on the last Smash direct.
-- Characters --
Regarding the characters, I think that Ken was an easy one to put in so I am fine with it. There seems to be a lot of new Smash fans coming over from the Street Fighter series. So adding an echo fighter to help please them was a good PR move. Incineroar I feel the same way I did with Corrin. Looks interesting, but would have rather seen someone else. Was hoping that the Pokemon fighting types would stay in Pokken, but there are a lot worse choices then it. Piranha Plant... is a thing? I'm with the people where that effort could have been used for a different character but it still looks like a really funny character to use.
While I am surprised that they didn't go crazy with echo fighters, one of the two main points I have about this direct is that this roster is a thing of beauty! As fans we cannot ask for much more with everyone they have given us. I feel like people are now complaining about random clones or characters so minor that the majority of players would not recognize the game. The worst bandwagon guilty of this is the Shadow crowd (Waluigi is a meme so I am excluding him.) Sure we all have one fighter to where if he/she/it was included it would blow our mind, but honestly we have to be thankful for so much work and the grand scale of everything.
That being said 5 DLC characters confirmed! and 5 stages too! Super hyped about that. No idea who they will end up being, but if I was to take logical guesses of 3rd party characters with influences on the switch, my guesses would be: Rayman, Sans, Banjo-Kazooie, and Crash bandicoot. #5 will probably be someone no one could ever predict like Billy Hatcher or something crazy like that.

Online play looks alright. I rarely go online because I still think of Brawl's servers whenever I hear about online play. Hopefully it works a little better.
-- World of Light --
Adventure Mode was the biggest thing that I wanted in this game, and is my main focus of this journal.
This looks like the most balanced Smash Bros. game since Melee. Brawl was all about the fun, new stages, and Subspace Emissary. While this was great for people like me, I know a lot of competitive fans went as far as to stop playing the game and go back to Melee. Visa-Versa, Smash 4 was super competitive. That meant a lot of lackluster modes (All star was awful due to grinding 50+ characters through fights, while Smash Tour should have never been a thing.) As well as a lot of flat stages (why were smashville and town + city in the same game?) So this made Smash 4 seem very underwhelming to me. Smash Ultimate does a lot right. They made Classic more like the original's, a lot of different fighting modes, 103 stages the majority of which are good (RIP Melee mute city and Poke Floats,) new fighters, and really everything else that appeals to every Smash fan's desire.
So with the new adventure mode aiming to be both fun and tell a story, what did I think?
Telling the truth, I can't really form an opinion of it just yet.
Right off the bat it looks like a mix between Emissary which is great and Smash Tour which is even worse than the tripping mechanics. If you analyzed the trailer in depth, you will see that this board or whatever over world it has is massive! There are a lot of areas to discover and different fighters to use as avatars to move around the board with. (I also saw Lapras, Rathalos, and the Great Fox being used as avatars.) There even appears to be an enhancement chart like there is in Skyrim.
Unlike Emissary, it does not appear that we will be entering levels of strange new worlds and exploring them to develop plot and unlock new characters. Instead we will be fighting numerous spirit clones and defeating them to progress. While I do not like the idea of it, there was a lot of annoyances in traveling the worlds in Brawl and it might progress faster.
The big thing for me is the cutscenes. Emissary was amazing solely because of these. Watching your favorite character cinematically come out of no where and do something epic was just incredible to see. From the trailer it looks like we will have the same opening as the trailer showed, as well as a short cutscene for boss battles. Still, I am a bit worried though because I didn't see anything else in the trailer that hinted at those.
Basically, if there are cutscenes sprawled out throughout the worlds, this is going to be the greatest game ever created. If not, like SSB4 this game is going to feel like a huge component of it is missing and will be a major let down for people like myself. Smash Ultimate isn't going to be very ultimate if it's adventure mode is a dolled up version of Smash Tour. Please let it be like Brawl's and not something garbage.
