- When did you start drawing?
Since I was six, something I did to relax when I was not trying to blowing up GI Joes or tramping through the woods. I was always fascianted with robots and cyborgs,
- Which hand do you use for drawing?
Both, but it looks better with my right.
- Which is easier to draw - male or female?
Depends on the pose, its hard to draw a man in lingerie, everything binds. Females are easier simply because I like drawing cute stuff.
- Which is easier to draw - long hair or short hair?
I can do either one, but it depends on what style I am going for too, if its more fantasy then the longer is awesome, realistic, short works.
- Is it easier to draw the head facing towards the right or the left?
I am partial to both though I probably tend to draw more toward the right just because of habit.
- Is it easier to draw the side view of the face or the front view?
Side view, pics never look quite right when you do them head on for me, I always try at least a slight angle, though I have also had that drilled in my head by my Sempai too...
- What do you have problems in drawing?
Squash and Stretch proportions. Don't ask me why but I just have a hell of time with getting the proportions dead on even with Poser and refereces, I think my brain is mis=wired somehow.
- What do you like to draw?
Couples and Cute Romance stuff are my main stays, Love doing pics involving water and also I am trying to capture the dramatic scene which is science all its own.
- Are you a traditional artist or a digital artist?
I am traditional all the way when it comes to my art. Though I do digital design on the side with a mouse (the horror!)
If anyone wants to donate me a tablet I wouldn't turn it down.
- Where do you start drawing from?
A blank part of the page.....
I usually like to start with the head and eyes, I put most of my concentration on the face in the first stages, everything flows out from there.
- What is your drawing habit that you are aware of?
I tend to go for the cutie side of art, I was always fascinated by Michelle Light's work when I first started anthro and it grew out from there. I try to convey a lot of emotion with my work, sadly I go from cute to goth pretty quick art wise, (I'm a art goth, ha).
- Any tips for coloring/shading?
Yeah, I would love some. I ussually do not worry about it too much unless I am doing a high detail piece where I would say always know how the light will react with your character, Poser is awesome for this.
- How long does it take to finish a piece of art?
It all depends on what kind of piece I am doing at the time, if its a simple pose piece then maybe 45-60 minutes for a simple one. For my more complex ones at least two hours between inking and clearing.
- What music do you listen to while you draw?
I am big fan of sound tracks, like right now I am listining to "The Last Samurai", a common set for me to play. I like soft and emotional instrumentals, I also listen to Les Miserable, Phantom of the Opera, and Mama Mia but I usually get distracted by singing along and wondering why my cats are glaring at me.
- How long does it take you to come up with an idea?
I am always thinking of ideas for days at a time then I will just sit down and make a day of getting them out of my head, (like I did yesterday). Now when it comes to request I usually take a few hours of meditation and thought before I sketch out the ideas till I get one I like. So I guess it really depends.
- Your favorite drawing utensils?
My Tri-Tip eraser, the best little investment I made, great for mass clearing and for color blending though I noticed yesterday it also likes to eat away at archival ink.... I am also a big fan of celcian blue lead which I need to pick some more up.
- Your favorite color/the color that you use a lot?
Green, more specifically shades of green, I am big fan of foliage. Though blue is a close second, the color of water.
- Your favorite style(s)?
I don't know if I really have one par say. I do what comes natural.
- Are you satisfied with your current art?
Yes and no, I wish I could do more with less. I want to be more realistic and not so freaking cartooney,
- What kind of artist are you aiming for?
I want to be better then I was yesterday....
Tagging, hmmm....
All of FA, if you want to do this then go for it.
