EDIT: Woke up to find yet another dishonour fee charged to my account
Although I can't seem to find the transaction from PayPal that it was for..
So that's more money I need to try and pull from thin air, yay.
My fortnightly payment also came in today
So my bank account is no longer in the negatives
HOWEVER I will be again soon if I can't still make that money back
Plus PayPal is making it impossible to send payments at the moment
Because they keep adding my negative balance to any payment I try to send
Which is making the amount exceed the available funds I have
And the whole payment is rejecting
So there's no way of paying people I owe without putting myself in the negatives again..
I'm so over this..
SO I'M GONNA
***scroll down to see the updated list of things I'm offering for sale!***
EDIT: I just got a call back from my local branch
They spoke with the branch manager and they were able to approve a $45 refund for me
Fuck me, that's more than I was expecting after all this
That's such a relief oh man
I'm still $88 in the red but that's a MUCH smaller amount than $133
Bless BOQ and their wonderful staff
EDIT: Just spoke with my local branch
Turns out the fault lies entirely with PayPal, because they're charging my bank account rather than my debit card
and that's why it's even going through in the first place, even though this has never happen before
(if I haven't had the funds PayPal would automatically reject the payment, not this)
So they're gonna talk to the branch manager and see if they can maybe offer me a one-time courtesy
so basically a partial refund of some sort
but other than that, there's literally nothing I can do other than change the way I use PayPal,
which means having all my payments through them taking longer to process with my bank
Which is why I started using instant bank transfers in the first place
Ugh
Such bullshit
EDIT: I just got off the phone with my bank
I've still gotta talk with my local bank to see if they can help me any
but it turns out that each dishonour fee has been charged to my account
for every time PayPal has tried to pull non-existent funds from my bank account
And because the payments have essentially bounced on my bank's end
PayPal have gone on to reattempt to pull the funds multiple times
Every attempt bringing with it another dishonour fee
So the chances of me getting some of those fees taken away is pretty fucking slim
and I'm most likely just going to have to pay off this $130 hole PP has landed me in
Plus the $40+ I owe PayPal now thanks to this bullshittery as well
//sigh..
EDIT: I just logged into PayPal and was greeted with >this<
All my bank's fucking reversals put me in even more debt god damnit
Welp I've got a little bit of an uncomfortable situation for myself right now
For a bit of context, my bank has two systems it uses,
both of which glitch a lot and end up not being mutually exclusive when that happens.
One is a "reversal", where they essentially reverse your funds transfer out of your account that put it in the negative.
The other is a dishonour fee - $15 - for going into the negative
(apparently this is only supposed to happen once per statement period,
but I've yet to call up and double check on that)
Obviously, a reversal means no more negative money, so no need for a dishonour fee.
Or so I thought..
Last week I made a payment via PayPal that put me roughly $25 in the negative
Every payment since then has been "reversed"
However, every day since then, my account has also been charged with a dishonour fee
I'm currently roughly $130 in the red
Edit: You can see the trainwreck happening in slow motion >here<
Normally I would just be mildly irritated, though it could just come out of my next payment.
However, with the negative amount being so much, what "extra" money I do get with my payment will not be enough.
On top of this, we've recently run out of food and it's my turn to cover groceries
(which is roughly $80-100/week for the two of us)
So I'm gonna need to find some way to recover the negative amount, and perhaps even then some..
I'm gonna be calling up the bank to see if there's any mistakes or glitches on their end
(with any luck at least half of those dishonour fees will be removed)
But otherwise please excuse me while I advertise everything here like crazy

I don't feel stressed but I guess I'm stressed
I know it’s not much but I really hope that this all gets resolved.
I can't tell you how much it means to me <3
Love youuuuuu!
Lookin' to pick up some of those adopts though, I left you a comment. It isn't much but I hope it's somethin' to help. :/
That's okay, I'm honestly so thankful that you're able to help (and to finally give some of my adopts a home)! Thankyou <3
I'm happy to help, and yeah, I'm soft for cute adopts so that's a bonus :'3
The payments aren't accurate, right? I'd call paypal or whatever company is making you pay money... That's total bs and you shouldn't put up with it >.<
I really don't have money to send... I really wish I did though.... *hugs*
The reason I'm in the red with PayPal is because the payments go through but my bank keeps pulling the funds back to stop me going further into the negative there, so PayPal's like "tf fam"
I'm gonna be calling up my bank soon to sort this out because 7 dishonour fees in four days is DEFINITELY a glitch.
I would like to know if it would be possible to combined this idea:
https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/li.....d-hoodie-shawl
With your little dragon scales on the bottom!
https://sta.sh/2ltim0vtm9b?edit=1
Like this?
Absolutely! They would be simple to add. Would you be wanting scales around the front of the hood as well?
The hood will naturally be a little pointy at the back because it's worked up in a rectangle and sewn together on one of the long sides before being sewn to the shawl, but we're you wanting more of a pixie point effect (which can be added with a little fiddling)?
And the clasp would be super simple as well~
I've never made this particular pattern before, so I haven't got an exact quote already prepared, but I'd be happy to do the whole thing for $60 + materials and shipping if that works for you? (In AUD, roughly $40 USD)
what is AUD?
AUD is the shorthand for Australian Dollars. USD for US Dollars.
$60 AUD equates to roughly $40 USD, so if you're in the US/mainly use USD, then it works out a lot cheaper for you, even with materials and shipping :)
I'll also be interested in getting some long gloves with the same pattern/colors, and possibly boot covers if you've ever made those before.
Ooh a whole matching set! Haha.
I've never made boot covers before but there's a whole bunch of patterns out there (and it's just some simple in-the-round work anyways) so they'd be easy enough to make~
And I can do them for the same price of the scaled gloves, depending on how long you want them. (the amounts below are assuming you want fuller length ones)
As for the gloves, I'm assuming you mean the scaled ones I've linked here in this journal? :)
The gloves would only require 3 skeins, while the boot covers may require closer to 4 skeins.
For materials alone you'll be looking at about $130 AUD (approx. $90 USD) for the set of three (hood/shawl, gloves, boot covers)
Plus the working cost will total at $160 AUD (approx $115 USD) for the set of three
And then shipping will be roughly $60 AUD (approx. $40 USD) - which is a lot but the package will weigh 1.3kg, and it includes tracking and should only take a week to get to you from the time I send it.
So that's a rough total of $350 AUD (approx. $250 USD) for the whole shebang
//phew
You'd be broke but you'd be stylish and warm af hahaha
In addition I dont know if I want it the same colors as the hood (white and red) but rather this wool:
Desert - California 8 ply
CY6032/81 - 5792
It's like a purples with browns.
Edit: Ah I'm s sorry, in addition would it be too hard to add ear like attachments on the shawl?
Ooh no complaints from me! I love the California 8-Ply range, and it'll be fun to work with the Desert colourways for once. I'm assuming this will be for the whole set?
Could you elaborate on what you mean by "ear like attachments"?
Are you meaning ear flaps like on aviation-style beanies or were you more asking about literal ears (human/animal) to be made and attached to the hood part? (I can absolutely add animal ears to the hood if that's what you mean!)
Now that I type it out it seems kinda obvious on this site lmaohttps://sta.sh/0bz8mus5tej
Putting scales "inside" the ears will be a bit tricky but I might be able to pull it off, though I can't make any promises. Are you wanting the ears to be modelled after any specific animal?
The scales on the hood will more look like they do here > https://www.ravelry.com/projects/Re.....le-stitch-hood (so around the brim, so to speak)
I could add the widow's peak shape to the front for you but it would look a bit odd with the scales
Also, just to double check, you're wanting boot covers or boot cuffs? I assumed you wanted them to go over your boots but the image makes me think more under the boots with the scales out the top? Just wanna make sure I'm making what you want, haha.
You don't have to add the scales to the brim, if it'll make the widows peak look funny. But if you think it'l look really good with the scales around the hood then we can forgo the widows peak. (I'm just a whore for assassins creed)
I'm sorry I meant boot cuffs I suppose is what I was thinking.
Also to reply to the other message so we don't have two conversations going on at the same time.
You can send the invoice to my e-mail: winterfrostdwings[at]gmail.com
Then I can send what I am able to <3
What's the minimum that you'll need to get started? I was thinking the 125, but I'm not sure if you need more.
Also sorry to add this at the end but will you need any measurements from me?
Now that I think of it, the way the hood attaches to the shawl, the scale might look a little odd simply because they'd "cut off" after the brim, so I might just add the widow's peak for you and forego the scales in that spot. I totally understand the asscreed needs :P
And no worries. The image you provided helped me understand better what you wanted, so it's all good!
As for measurements, the only thing I'll really need from you is the circumference (in cm) of the thickest part of your calf, so I can make sure the boot cuffs will fit. The hood/shawl and gloves are pretty much one-size-fits-all.
In order to get started I'll need enough to purchase the materials, which is $130. If you can't do that in one hit that's okay, I'll just wait to order materials until I have enough :)
I've just sent the invoice your way, thanks so much!
My calves are huge *cries* they're 16 inches wide XD;;;
I'm glad that you like the picture I drew! We should get together and make projects like this in the future, it was fun to put some ideas together.
I'll pull up that invoice now.
Edit: Shit! I made a typo on my email
winterfrostedwings[at]gmail.com
I know what it's like to have large calves. I did Irish and Highland dancing for a good 10 years so I can't wear any boots that aren't ankle height //sobs
Is that the circumference? Sorry, just a bit confused, haha.
Haha sure! It's always fun to see what ideas other people have :)
Oh whoopsie! I've just fixed that now!
Ok and I just had a thought, You know in the original shawl pattern, there's white? Can we still do that white but use the desert yarn for whatever is the "red" part of the pattern. Would that be possible?
Still making any scaled parts the desert color if possible
I sent 130... wait. I sent $130 AUD. Um, is that ok or do you need more? That was confusing XD
I could do that, but it would cost more as I'd need to purchase the extra materials, plus then it might look odd if the gloves and boot cuffs don't have the white on them as well. But in terms of difficulty it would be easy to do.
Lol yeah all amounts for this are in AUD (including on the invoice) so don't worry~
I'm going to trust you on this one and let you make that call if you think it'll look better two toned or if it'll look nicer with the same thread throughout
For reference, this is a pretty good indication of the colours you'll get, and this is a better indicator of how those colours will "stripe" against each other with the shawl pattern
So just the Desert throughout, then? (Just double checking if that's what you meant before I order everything)
Would you like the gloves to be wrist-length or forearm-length?
(I'll note you for confirmation soon~)
Materials: $60
Labour: $90
Shipping: $38
Total = $188 AUD (approx. $135 USD)
For wrist-length gloves, the total would be $168 AUD (approx. $120 USD)
$60 AUD for the gloves (short)
$80 AUD for the gloves (long)
$38 AUD postage
Noting you now for confirmation~
Banks are jerks.
